Kesha Nichols Probably Won’t Be Signing On For Another Season of ‘Basketball Wives’

Kesha Nichols became the most empathetic character on this season of “Basketball Wives” after we watched her get verbally attacked by Tami on multiple occasions. Some didn’t expect to see the newcomer on the reunion episode due to her rough season and in a chat for VH1′s blog she told the interviewer had she not been contractually bound to attend she definitely would have skipped it, much like she plans on doing for season 5 of the show. Here’s what she told the site:

“Honestly, this whole season I’ve been waiting and hoping that something positive would come, and I don’t think they’ve really shown anything positive about me, about black women, about women in general. And I honestly didn’t realize that I was being bullied when I was in Tahiti, I knew that Tami was being mean to me and that nobody was sticking up for me, but when I watched the episode, that’s when I realized I was being bullied, and I’ve been lucky, never in my life have I experienced that, so maybe the reason why I was on the show was to see what it was like to be bullied and be a spokesperson for people that are being bullied.

“I had a conversation with Royce about doing another season if the show comes back, and I don’t know why I would. I’m never going to film with Kenya again, I’m never going to film with Tami again, so what purpose would I serve? I’m not about this life, so why would they want me to come back? And Royce was like, you have so many fans and people who look up to you, if you don’t come back it might look like you’re running. No, it looks like I’m removing myself from a negative situation. That’s all you can do when you’re being bullied by someone. Remove yourself from the situation. Because, clearly, not saying anything doesn’t work. This has definitely been a learning experience for me and I’m not going to let it break my spirit. I can make something positive out of anything, but it’s definitely been very hard.”

Kesha said she has it in her to snap but only when it’s something she cares about, and  like she said on the show, there was nothing she could say about Tami that would make her look worse than she made her own self look. That goes for the other women on the show too.

“I’m not going to fight a woman who’s fighting a battle with herself, it has nothing to do with me,” Kesha said. “And I wrote about this in my blog, but the rest of the women who didn’t step in are secondary adult bullies. I’m allowed to have an opinion about somebody going off on me, and she was mad at me because I said she was acting a fool, and what was she doing? Acting a fool again. What’s she going to do today? Beat me up because I called her a bully?

“I keep saying how lucky I am that I have a support group around me and family and friends who love me all around, but some people who don’t have that might go hurt themselves. What I’ve endured could take me to a really dark place and I haven’t let that happen, but there are people who don’t have the tools to help themselves out of situations like this.”

Good for Kesha for lining up her exit strategy. I can’t imagine who would sign on to be a part of next season.

Keisha handled herself like a lady by not stooping down to Tami’s low, low level.

  • Kickin-Lotsa-Rox

Why is everyone so eager to cancel BBW? I still like and watch the show. I find it hard to believe these women who come on the show HAVE NO CLUE what it’s all about. They had fights since their first season and NOW the fighting is too much? Huh? I know I still be watching.

  • Done and over

I didn’t like what Tami Frothy Dog Roman did to Kesha. But if Kesha learn anything remember to next time get to know people. She had someone to come down and then Evelyn threw the bottle at Kenya. Same thing what if Evelyn had really hurt her, because of Kesha. But I would not come back either. Shaunie O’Neal is so far up Evelyn lozada butt and tami everybody seems to be scared of that stupid psycho

Let’s boycott this show..it represents violence and emotional abuse..I have lost all respect for shaunie for condoning such disgusting behaviour this season

Kesha is my girl. She doesn’t need to stoop to Tami’s level. Tami has been abused as a child and as an adult. What she did to Kesha is repulsive and sickening. I use to like her, but not anymore. I can not respect anybody who belittles somebody and hurts somebody. Words hurt to just like being physically abused. Tami, Evelyn, Suzie, and Shaunie need to banned from television. Do not support these women!!!

She needs to take lessons on how to walk. lol. Umm… I guess I was the only one that noticed that. Oh, back to the topic if I were her I would return and redeem myself from being a victim. She looked weak and pathetic almost childlike. I would go back and stand up for myself and NOT shut down. Some of this stuff she’s talking about should have been explored at home. Such as when Tammi asked if she was white she should have been prepared for that question at this age. Of course people will ask so what answer and move on actually most black people are mixed with something. She is too damn sensitive for my taste seems as if they made her too soft for this world. I don’t want to hear it either you do not have to physically fight to stand up and get someone to leave you alone. I know a spoiled kid when i see one other people always fought her battles for her it crippled her. I really hate that you did not have a relationship with yous black side of the family you would have been forced to be a little more thick skinned.jmo. Does’nt mean I am right just calling how i see it.

I feel a bit bad for Kesha HOWEVER she like my girl Jen also had her moment of bullying and cornering people. Think of how she came at Kenya and her music and dance routine. STUCK UP, RUDE, CONDESCENDING. It is one thing to try and help someone and another to make fun of them in a group of women when they are not there which is what Kesha did. All of these women had their moment of nastiness and the one good thing about this season is that karma came at them all with a FURY! Hope they all actually learned a lesson.

I like Keisha and I thought she was a bright spot for the show this season. If she doesn’t return next season I hope she lands another more positive project.

    Evelyn should be caged

  • cheetee

Evelyn is as bad as Tammi. Old women with young adult daughters, yet they behave like animals. Evelyn needs to be caged, and Shaunie needs a reality check. Royce, you’re a mini celeb. Stop wearing last year’s fashions.

Don’t be fooled. Kesha is full of shyt. She will be back. Don’t you guys realize this “I don’t know stuff” is a strategy to get more money? This HO was talking tough behind Tami’s back. She had an opportunity to repeat your statements rather than denying she ever said it, which makes her a liar. So what Tami’s tone was threatening. This girl has been tip-toeing on eggshells since she arrived. Your storyline is so lame anyway. If she goes, no one will even miss her. BYE

Kesha-I am sad that Shaunie and crew were so mean to you. You should be proud of yourself that you did not lower yourself to their level. Tami and Ev are buliies , Kenya is “crazy” Susie is sneaky and Shaunie-why would she risk her reputation w/those females. Wendy Williams should have been the host -she would have called them out. I did like Sally’s line-Mean and Evil. Good luck -you made the right decision. You have too much class for that bunch!

  • Treacle234

I really could care less, Kesha didn’t really have a story line, other than being on Tami’s bad side. So she would not be missed. Sadly, her dance company or any of the projects she’s working on were not showcased. So we really don’t know anything about her other than she is mixed. Now Kenya had a story-line besides being on Evelyn’s bad side. Yes, Kenya is ‘crazy’ (she said so herself) but she makes for interesting tv. I can’t wait to see who are the new cast mates for next season.

  • Funnygirl

Good she is too classy for this show. Those girls are instigators and silly I though shaunie wasn’t like that but after this season and the basketball reunion show and the comment to Jennifer about her lip gloss line I though these girl are all wreaks and there lives missions are to put others down to feel good about themselves no sisterhood or respect to anyone.

  • Marco

Karma has chewed up and spit out ” Tami” for how she clowned Dave on real World 1…”she was a bum then .. And she’s a bum now”
    -Mrs. Montana

  • NikkitaMichelle

Truth be told Keisha should stay and they should get rid of Tammy and Evelyn who don’t know how to act like adults. On the reunion they said they want to focus on the positive. How can you focus on positive things when half your cast are ignorant violent hoodrats. The world is bigger than your neighborhood, no one should just be fine with you beating them up without any consequences. What is Tammy teaching her children?

  • Mia

What happened to her was awful, but come now Kesha dear, you are not Joan of arc so please stop playing the martyr. I watched a few episodes of this train wreck and already knew what this show was about, so I’m pretty sure she knew as well before she signed on. And she certainly didn’t mind laughing and taking jabs at others when the shoe wasn’t on her foot.

    • empress123

I agree people seem to forget how cruel she was to Kenya in the beginning oh well. I knew the karma was going to come for her too just didn’t think it would be that soon lol

  • Bullyless Hothead

Kesha did not belong on that show at all during this season. These women were truly sad, but not because it would be seen as running away but she has built a fan base. Not based on feeling sympathetic or empatheic, but for feeling proud that despite the major obstacles she faced she didn’t let it break her. There is no need to be embarassed. If walking away to keep from fighting is viewed as cowardice behavior then it must be those pitiful souls still chanting “Team Tami” and “Team Evelyn”. I wouldn’t walk away if they meet her demands of not having to film with Tami or Kenya. The only positivity of the show this season were seasons which included she and Royce. Tennis w/Jen and Susie, Zumba class, and the trip to visit with her family were all positive moments. Where there was any positive moment of the show, there was Kesha. Don’t walk away…reevaluate, alter the contract, and bring the heat. Having a temper doesn’t constitute being a bully. I can personally testify to that. Good luck in whatever you do, and thank you for showing a true example of what mature adult means…
