If you were tired of talking about the possibility of a biopic on Whitney Houston’s life, there’s now something new to talk about: There’s going to be a memoir on her life  and it will be written by her mother. Cissy Houston will go in depth about the joys and pain of her daughter’s life in a detailed memoir that will be distributed by HarperCollins and will be available next February. In a statement released via HarperCollins, momma Cissy says she hopes, in doing the book, that she can leave a little bit of Whitney with her fans and give folks a better understanding of her life:

“When I lost my daughter Nippy (Whitney Houston’s nickname), the world lost one of the most beautiful voices and an extraordinarily beautiful and charitable woman. In sharing our story in this book, I hope to give her fans something to treasure, the way we all treasured Whitney. We are still receiving thousands of letters each day from her fans, and I hope reading this book will provide a deeper understanding into my daughter’s true story.”

According to NY Daily News, a portion of the proceeds from the book will be given to New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, N.J. where Whitney’s voice first was able to have a stage. This is also where people got to see their last glimpse of the star during her funeral. Reports say that Houston will receive seven figures through the book deal. Cissy is slated to discuss everything that went on with Whitney, including her drug addiction, troubled marriage to Bobby Brown, her iconic career, and her own grief from losing her daughter. According to HarperCollins, “Ultimately, Cissy will go behind the headlines to show the true, human side of this strong, successful yet complicated musical icon, capturing the dramatic depths and soaring range of an extraordinary woman, along with the pain and heartbreak of a grieving mother as she struggles with impossible loss.”

I’m sure that by writing this memoir, Cissy will be able to deal with a lot of her pain behind the death of her gifted daughter, but I’m sure that with her family not really taking the private approach to going through the grieving process, folks will indeed have something to say about this book. Though I have to admit that it might be interesting to see what she has to say about her daughter’s marriage to Bobby Brown. Would you check it out?

i think its great that her mother can write a book on whitney her daughters life, who knew her better than her own mom wold know everything mostly about the times they shared together. i would love it and i would buy that book for a keepsake of whitney..i adored her singing and her faith in the lord..may she rest in peace

I hate that when a musical legend dies, their family tries to milk their death for millions of dollars instead of letting them RIP. People are so money hungry it’s sickening.

I was one to judge how family members acted after the loss of a loved one until I lost a loved one. No telling where her desire to write this book is coming from, Whitney is gone so it can’t hurt her.

    • TRUTH

Am sure most of us have lost someone dear but what do we do?!? Let them rest in peace!!

      • msnaimah1985

And does that make you right or make them wrong? No. We all have ways of dealing with a close death and you cannot say she is wrong for dealing with hers in a certain matter. Glad you let yours “Rest In Peace” as if they had a choice, please stop because your “smart mouth” is sounding kind of dumb. If you want to be literal how can a dead person not “Rest In Peace” such a ghetto saying.

        • TRUTH

Tell that to your granny, they are the ones we got RIP turd. And trust some ppl do not rest in peace but you are too daft/shallow to realize that. Rolling in their grave is ghetto to? Define GHETTO!!

The only reason I don’t have much else to say about this is because I know that after the burial, it’s done for everyone else, but the family may continue to grieve for years. I believe her mother is genuinely acting out of grief, especially because Whitney’s birthday is approaching. Those kinds of events tug at the emotions. Maybe working on the book will be therapeutic for her.

  • TRUTH

Poor Whitney, she was just a cash cow for these ppl (family included). If her is gonna find a solution to fix then whitney, I am not interested. Obviously her method didn’t work.

  • Thisis me

these people need to STOP they’re about as bad as the Jacksons. they need to quit trying to milk whitney’s name for money and attention and go pay attention of bobbi k. wasn’t there just some new video of her getting high with her friends? they all need to get away from the spotlight and move on with their lives.

    • TRUTH

Sweedi, they will crucify you for saying that about the train wrecking Bobbi!!
