Zuckerberg Proves That Even The Richest Men Don’t Know How To Treat A Woman

Facebook stocks may not be doing as well as CEO Mark Zuckerberg would have hoped, but let’s face it, the man still has quite a bit of money. But if it’s one place Zuckerberg is choosing to not spend his cash, it’s on treating his new wife Priscilla Chan.

By now most of us have heard of his very small and low-key wedding to his longtime girlfriend. The two married in their backyard with less than 100 guests and served sushi and chocolate. Then, according to Forbes, Zuckerberg took his amour on a secret Italian honeymoon. Sounds romantic right? Except that the two were spotted at a restaurant that wasn’t the luxurious high-end sort with authentic Italian food that most of us dream of one day visiting. The two were sitting on the Mignanelli Steps by Piazza Spagna eating McDonalds. That’s right, they flew all the way to Italy to eat McDonalds.

Not only that, when they did visit an authentic Italian restaurant, Nonna Beta, which specializes in Roman Jewish food, they decided to order water and tea than wine or beer. And hey, while they may not have been in the mood for a drink, they also didn’t leave a tip on a bill of 32 euros–which is about a $40 meal. Even after telling the owners that they enjoyed their meal! But it’s just Zuckerberg’s style not to tip. The Telegraph reports he also didn’t tip when eating at the historic trattoria Pierluigi in the heart of Rome.

Who knows, maybe Zuckerberg is preparing for an end to Facebook soon or maybe, he’s just cheap. It kind’ve makes you think twice about how you view your thrifty boyfriend or the guy who made you pay on that last date. If even a multi-billionaire is tightening up his purse strings, we can’t blame the brothas who choose to do the same.

    To all of you who have never been to Europe, It is not customary or necessary to tip. Waiters and waitresses in Europe are paid a living wage and don’t rely on tips as income.They don’t want it and most don’t appreciate it. I’m pretty sure none of the wait staff knew who he was because he’s an American and 99% of us wouldn’t be able to pick him out of a lineup. It’s funny how you all equate not tipping to being a bad husband.

    Some cultures consider tipping to be an insult, so it depends on that. Maybe they just don’t have extravagant tastes. I’d rather marry a man who whisked me off for McDonald’s in Italy than someone who just gave me his credit card and left me on my own.

    Personally, I think tip or not sends a message to both the waiter and establishment. Perhaps the service was not that hot. I once visit a resturant in Denmark and received lousy service. The resturant charged a gratuity, which I totally disapprove off and some of my collegues insisted on still leaving a tip. Not me. Why would I tip twice? Perhaps this was the case for MZ, who knows, leave the young newlyweds alone!!!!

    Leaving a tip is an American custom, in many countries tipping your server is an optional thing. Leave the guy alone. He may be rich but he was not born into wealth, forgive him if he prefers the simple things in life such as fast food over caviar & wine.

    how does him being ‘cheap’ equate to him not knowing ‘how to treat a woman’ (from the title of this article). Perhaps she is just as cheap. Nothing in the article shows him mistreating his wife.

    Besides the not tipping part, maybe they’re just low-key and low maintenance.  How do we know Priscilla didn’t prefer a Big Mac over Italian pasta.  See that’s the problem with “our” mentality sometimes.  Just because you have it, doesn’t mean you have to spend it all and do it up big all of the time.  I think it’s kind of refreshing compared to seeing Kim and Kanye on blog homepages flaunting and flashing. That’s probably why Zuckerberg will be rich for a very long time because he IS frugal.

    They were together for 9 years before they got married she probably knew what she was in for.. u never know maybe she would rather him pay for Med school than buy her extravagant things.. now as far as not tipping he really does need to check that.. even if the service or food sucked that I how people make their living

    I agree leaving a tip is sort of rude but I admire this man. He is rich beyond most of our wildest dreams yet he lives in a pretty yet somewhat plain (for a rich person). I think it’s a good thing not to be throwing money around and splurging just because you have it. Obviously his wife knows by now that he’s not an extravagant person but she loves him anyway. A marriage isn’t about how much money the person has or the expensive gifts he can by. It’s about the love and passion you have for that person. At least he not like one of those digusting athletes or loser rappers who spend all their money tricking women (buying them things) and spending money on pointless cars and what not. Maybe he’s trying to leave a legacy for his future children?

    While it’s customary in Europe to tip a little less than you would in states, to not leave anything is classless and tacky. I’ve always thought he was a douche and this story confirms it.
