Don’t Hurt Yourself: Bobby Brown Performs For The Today Show

Bobby Brown proved he can still do a little something something on the stage. Though he’s been touring with New Edition for a minute now. The “King of R&B” broke free from his group members to perform on NBC’s Today show this morning. He doesn’t sound quite the same and his dance moves were certainly limited, but he still put on a decent show for the folks on the Plaza. He also refuted rumors that his new single “Don’t Let Me Die” was a tribute to Whitney Houston. It was written for his new boo, fiancee Alicia, nine months ago. It would quite shady to still be writing love songs to your ex wife.

Anyway in addition to his new stuff, Bobby also performed some of our favorites. Watch him perform “Every Little Step” in the video below.

How can i find out who else will be on Good Morning America performing…?

He looks good with the weight loss and I thought his performance was great compared to what’s out there now.  At least he has his own live band with background singers.   I’m not giving up on him just yet; this has all the makings of a comeback.  Go Bobby!

    crack is wack!!!….

I think he was very good. When he first sang the song he was young and his voice was different. Now that he’s older his voice changed and it is just matured.

Bobby, Bobby you need to stick with New Edition otherwise you gonna disappear in has been row. Sick of you trying to be the lead. It’s gone and lets be honest it wasn’t all that anyway. If it hadn’t been for Whitney you would have been forgotten long ago. The only reason ppl are taking any interest in you  know is due to Whitney. This performance was terrible. Voice sound froggy.

His singing wasn’t that good in his prime, and his songs were just OK.  His voice sounds terrible now, and he’s visibly winded from that bit of activity.  He makes me laugh the way he walks around acting like he’s a big shot, though.

Bobby needs to stick to a healthier lifestyle.  If he worked out, he would perform better.   He was struggling and he has it in him to do better.  He loves what he does and that alone is a great thing.

I love Bobby Brown and God bless him for trying but he is clearly “out of shape” for singing. You can’t drink and/or party and expect to give a stella perormance. He could barely sing and move around with out trying to catch his breathe.

… but I’m proud of Bobby tho! He looks good after finally getting off them drugs!! Now if he could just put that bottle down!

Performing is theraputic for some people. I hope this is why Mr. Brown chose to take the stage again.

Bobby – just stick to performing with New Edition – this performance must be payback for giving Matt Lauer an interview and discussing Whitney/ Bobbi Kris.

Am I the only one who thinks of Dream Girls when Jimmy gets kicked out of the Cococabana singing baby and pulling his pants down or Jimmy got soul? :) ) chuckles I think we can safely say this ship has sailed :/
