Personal Space

There seems to be a disregard when it comes to respecting personal space. In confined areas, it can’t be helped and there’s no choice but to have everyone on top of the other. But in most instances, there should be a reasonable amount of space between people. You want to be able to have a conversation with someone but not too close where you can smell what they had for breakfast. And nobody wants a person to be thirsty-guy-in-the-club close when they’re minding their business, waiting in line. Some people get it, and some people don’t, but either way, it’s annoying. Not to mention that we all can’t afford big ‘ol Julius to act as a bodyguard and regulate.

Lawd yess people are so ruude on cell phones. I make a point not to be on the phone entering an establishment, at the register, or making orders. I just think it’s rude and disrespectful. And they left out “not using a turn signal”–it came w/ the car, use it! I mean some people drive around like the don’t like the back/side of their cars…help prevent accidents for crying out loud. Just common courtesy and some of that’s been forgotten too. ; o

  • Tallchiick

I totally agree with staring…I’m 6’2..and people always stare like they’ve never seen a tall woman before…it irks me…but sometimes they do break their stares and actually say something and/or compliment me…thats better than just staring like an idiot.

    -interrupting/cutting people off
-being/remaining in the left lane when you are driving slowly. Kindly GTFOHWTBS
-stank breath in general but b4 10am?!? You being at the morning meeting w/ breath on garbage is ridic.
-passive aggressive e-mails, inappropriate/bitchassedness use of the cc and bcc.
-people who only post on FB about one thing (club promotion, scriptures, how much they hate___, etc.)  #juststop

    • jay bee

I forgot to add sneezing or belching w/o covering your mouth .

Also, cursing makes you sound ignorant.  Apparently some thinks it’s cool, but you just sound dumb because you sound uneducated.  Also:

Licking your fingers at the table like it’s a chicken bone…yuck!
If you are big, fat, hippy, whatever…don’t think you can squeeze into the seat next to me on the subway…I don’t want to touch no strangers arms, hips, sides, etc.  Your tail need to stand!
Telling someone they look nice TODAY.  Well, what about yesterday?  LOL

    • Bkabbagej

Excuse me but if the seat is available and if you don’t want to be touch someone’s arms, hips, sides, etc… then you should either stand or use a car service.  It’s rush hour we’re all inconvienced, touched where we don’t want to be touched, by people we’d rather not be close to.  Dealing with pocketbooks in sides/backs, foul body odor, loud earphones/conversations, etc…so if your biggest complaint is a soft wide hip, arm, or sides touching you consider yourself lucky.

I have to admit I’m guilt of the interrupting bit.  It’s not that I think what I have to say is more important than what the other person is saying, it’s just that  I lose my train of thought so fast when I’m talking that I sometimes feel like if I don’t speak up at the moment a thought pops into my head that by the time the person is done talking, I will have forgotten what I wanted to say.

  • TRUTH

Saying excuse me when you are supposed to say sorry., smh
    Fidgetting, keep yo arse still

  • Melanieyoungkin

Chewing and talking with food in your mouth
Picking or flossing your teeth at the dinner table - please go the bathroom

The most valuable things in life are not measured
in monetary terms. The really important things are not houses and lands,
stocks and bonds, automobiles and real state, but friendships, trust,
confidence, empathy, mercy, love and faith.

OMG love this article… i just can’t handle people with no manners it makes me crazy. The loud talking is one of my biggest pet peeves… i will respond to their conversation… i mean you’re speaking so i can hear you must WANT me to comment  on your conversation… but another addition to the list is people who act like saying please, thank you or excuse me would break their mouth…  also if they are too close at the supermarket check out line and turn and ask “you got this?” i mean they are that close they must want to pay!!!

  • MeAndYou

Oh chile. I surely know someone who does the borrowing thing, and the cellphone thing. Just yapping away loud af acting like they were raised with no manners.

  • RedButterfly81

    1. Chewing with your mouth open
    2. Having a stinky breath, but still openly talking
    3. When driving and you stop for someone and they fail to say “thank you”
    4. When you’re on public transport and people barge past you or want to leave but don’t say “excuse me”
    5. When someone touches you e.g. rather than say “excuse me” alone, they like place their whole palm on your shoulder and move you
    6. When you’re talking to someone and they don’t have the decency to look at you e.g. they’re texting on their mobile

    • Lorisangel
