You Ready For The Return of “Single Ladies?”

May 28th, 2012 - By MN Editor

Memorial Day marks the beginning of summer fun: BBQs, shorter hemlines, getaway travel and the new season of VH1’s Single LadiesAdvertisement.

You will see the return of fan favorite Keisha (LisaRaye McCoy) as a tall drink of water tries to lock her down and change that “single lady” status. April (Charity Shea)will take us on her journey of “the perfect marriage” as she realizes that happily ever after may be nothing more than a fairytale. And of course, there’s the lady we have all been waiting to meet, new cast member Denise Vasi in the role of Raquel – a sophisticated businesswoman coming into her own and calling the shots.

But enough about the ladies, it’s the men that have me ready to tune in! There is more Malcolm, because we just cannot get enough of him, and let’s not forget the delicious William Levy as Antonio. Sprinkle in guest appearances and storyline curveballs that no one saw coming, and you are sure to be on the edge of your seat week after week.

This summer, get single with the Single Ladies Season 2 premiere Monday, May 28 at 9/8c on VH1!

whatever happened to raquels relationship with the latin guy? and why so much focus on the white chick? and why are all the darkest girls made i to b*tches, or the goofy doofy new friend? man…i thought this show was going to be ok, but it has gone down the pits.

  • shame on you

LI.SA RAY is trying to act and its worst then what she already trying to do….th new girl looks like STACY DASH she SUCKS…the white girl is bad to BUT…she better then the both of them…………HA HA HA HA HA…..IT REALLY S U C K S……and it going tobget cancelled

  • quest

The new girl Racquel is just to soft spoken for me and her acting is worse then LisaRaye’s.

  • @msredbonebrite

I can’t wait until 9PM EST!! LOL… I thought I was the only one who thought the acting was sub par, especially considering the great actors they’ve enlisted… But, the story lines are too interesting!! I really hope they explain what happened with Val though, because I hate they ended it like that!

  • Prissy

I refuse to watch. I ALWAYS give new shows at LEAST 2 episodes but man this acting is HORRIBLE. The ignorant side of be did not want to give it a chance at ALL because of the white girl in the cast. I will  not apologize for actually seething when I see a white woman with a Black man. I am all for the Black women in the cast. I am happy to see two Black women gainfully employed. I wish them the best. But I hope that since last season Lisa has taken some much needed acting lessons. Be great. Happy Memorial Day.

Puleeze.  I couldnt care less.  If you still do, you got real issues girl.

    • Jimowife

your crazy, it’s a reality, no wonder black men go for the white chicks its because of haters like you. Ignorant, just plain.

I’m with you, Prissy, but only in that I seethe when they only put the white women with black men, but won’t put the Black women with white and other races of men. Also, why do Black-focused shows always have to have white women, or white people in general? I think it’s crazy especially when you know that Sex and the City didn’t have any Black women on it (or at least definitely not any Black women who were the main focus of the show/man characters).

Why should i, as a Black woman, constantly watch Black men with white women, but rarely do they show Black women with anything but black men? Not only that, the focus this season is basically going to April, the white girl’s, relationship. Why do Black shows always do this??? They know their main audience is Black women, but choose to insult us by making white chick one of the main focal points. Ridiculous. Queen Latifah and Stacey Littlejohn should be ashamed. White shows almost never do this, especially not for black women. All the Black women should not be chasing after Black men only – they should have options too of different races of men. This is why I’m pretty much done with Single Ladies. I tried to watch every episode of season two, but this is ridiculous. Even Raquels man, Charles , was supposedly only with her because his Indian girlfriend dumped him. I mean really?? Maybe Queen Latifah and Littlejohn have no real influence in this show anymore.

Done with Single Ladies. Let the Black men watch it since they keep kissing their asses.

I did not get to see the show when it first aired last summer….Just a few weeks ago I was able to watch the reruns and it really did not appeal to me at all…..I wish it the best despite my absences of watching.

No more Val?  I’m not so sure.  I watched the trailer and the lack of Stacey Dash kind of made it seem empty.  I’m going to give the new girl a chance though.

    • Jimowife

Stacy acting was horrible, i only miss how cool she was as Val

  • HOUSTON TEXAN

    THE WORST ACTING EVER

    • Ladybug94

That is true but I also can’t deal with the fact that this show should have a decent hairstylist but LisaRaye’s hair is not getting it, really none of their hair styles are but geesh, what it the budget for hair for this show?  Queen L., we need you to do better on this.

  • Bluekissess

I enjoy the story lines but the non-acting skills irritate me

  • Faecoast

Idk i need to see how the new girls plays val.

    • Tesa

She is not playing VAL tho. She is a different Character all together.

  • moonrose4me

    Can’t wait!
This is my show!! I’m still sad that Stacy is gone but I love LisaRaye, so we’ll see.
