Deep treatments are great for your hair. They help keep your hair moisturized and prevent breakage. You can use traditional conditioners, but you can turn it up a notch with an oil conditioner.

You can use oils you have in your kitchen to deep treat your hair. From Extra Virgin Olive Oil to Coconut Oil, you can use it. There are also some oils that you probably don’t have lying around your kitchen. You can try jojoba oil, castor oil, sweet almond oil and more. Each oil has a certain nutritive quality that can make your hair healthier and provide a deep treatment!

There are several hair brands who have oil treatments for your scalp and hair, for those of you that don’t want to be a kitchen chemist.  Try Optimum Care’s Essential Nutrients that has coconut oil, olive oil, and vitamins A, B, and E already combined in 1 dose, to protect your hair and hydrate a dry scalp. Purchasing products that already have the essential nutrients you need makes it easier and some brands even have one time use sizes or full sizes that you can spread out.

With all of the products, you can mix and match the different oils based on your current hair needs.  If you even have a favorite conditioner you love, you can add some of your favorite oil to the product. Heat any of the oils and do an oil treatment for a real deep treatment. Warm it up and make sure you coat your hair and scalp with the treatment. Rinse, and you are done!

Results? Uber shiny hair that is soft and moisturized!

Do you do oil treatments?

I use a mix of grapeseed oil, rosemary and sage essential oils to detangle my hair and leave it on for 30 minutes to an hour.

  • Kierah

I use coconut oil to seal my hair before drying it. To me castor oil is too heavy.
