Indian Fans Shame World’s ‘Most Beautiful Woman’ For Not Losing Baby Fat Quick Enough

May 17th, 2012 - By Brande Victorian

I’m not saying this is Bey’s fault, but I knew all the attention on her dropping her baby weight so quickly was going to spiral out of control with that type of rapid weight loss becoming expected for new mothers. She was hardly the first to do it but she’s been praised for it more than most, while on the other side of the globe, Bollywood star and former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is being blasted for not losing her post-baby weight soon enough.

Indian tabloids have heavily criticized the 38-year-old blue-grey-eyed beauty with headlines like “SHOCKING! Fat Aishwarya Rai!” and “Aishwarya’s Baby Fat Woes!” in the seven months since the actress gave birth to her daughter and the general public hasn’t done much to calm the discussion. Most recently, a report by “Bollywood CIA” posted on YouTube put together before and after pictures of the star against the sound of an elephant trumpeting in the background. Comments from the 500,000 viewers have included:

“Instead of losing some of her flab after her delivery the Bachchan Bahu has gained 5 or 6 kilos…we think it is time she hire a good trainer to help her sweat it out in the gym.”

“She is a Bollywood actress and it is her duty to look good and fit”

“She needs to learn from people like Victoria Beckham who are back to size zero weeks after their delivery.”

Really people? On Twitter, other people commented:

“The woman is in the PUBLIC eye! Her baby is 7 months old and she looks like she gave birth yesterday! Not to mention she has a double chin! Sorry, many of us have had kids and WORKED hard to lose it. Motherhood doesn’t give you license to be overweight.”

“Wouldn’t have recognized her…is that really her in the taxi…too many kebabs.’

I can only imagine the emotional toil this has taken on the actress who Julia Roberts once said was “the most beautiful woman in the world” and who has always been revered for her looks. ABC points out though, that Aishwarya is not shying away from the spotlight just because of public opinion. She fully intends to walk the red carpet during the Cannes Film Festival, which just began yesterday, with her daughter. But of course, this news has sparked even more discussion about what she could possibly wear given her post-pregnancy weight.

Stardom often comes with a heavy price but this shouldn’t be one of them. Putting this type of pressure on a new mother is unnecessary, especially when we know if she did snap back to a size 2 too soon, people would say she spent too much time in the gym with a personal trainer rather than being with her new baby. You really can’t win as a woman in Bolly- or Hollywood. Meanwhile Jessica Simpson is reportedly “excited” that she’s signed a $4 million deal here in the US to drop her baby weight ASAP using Weight Watchers. It never ends.

What do you think about all this pressure for new mothers to lose their baby weight immediately?

This is so ridiculous, I gave birth, naturally, (meaning through my vagina), to a HUGE 8 pound baby. I’m small, before getting pregnat I weighted 115pds, only gained 29 pounds during pregnancy AND lost all that weight AND MORE almost immediately. No working out, no diet, just breastfeeding.

Our bodies are different, my best friend gained 80 pounds, had a small baby and still cant go back down to her normal 120pds frame.

People need to get over Beyonce cause no one knows what she went through, and all these other mothers. God made us different and all stories, although similar, will ALWAYS be different.

  • Treacle123

That is the most unflattering photo I have seen of Mrs Bachchan. No mother should aspire to be like Victoria Beckham esp after giving birth she is way to skinny

    • Snsparkles864

That’s so true,is this the Provoke star, truely a box office queen. Is she still the princess of the red carpet.didn’t know she was a bollywood star……(Confused)….

  • Resulrs

As a mother of a 3 month old, I lost my baby weight rather quickly.  As a new mom I am too busy to eat.

  • Nitty

Damn B you see what u did?
U know damn well you didn’t birth that baby..ugh

  • BobbyJ

To be honest she should not be criticised for not losing the weight.  However, if your claim to fame is beauty and you embrace that and make millions from that, then you have to take to bad as well.

  • mss

Ok 1.) Please stop using Beyonce pregnancy to prove something againest women who no question were pregnant. I am sorry I like Bey.  I know she has a slew of haters. But no other celeb generated that much confusion over a pregnancy, I dont care whether she had it or not. Please dont use that example because to be honest no one knows if she truly was or not. Sorry. its truth. Now moving one this lady was obviously preggers I dont thhink women are all the same … its sad ppl dont get that … everyone is different I hope her career picks up

    • Deedee_404

Right!! It took Mariah Carey over six months

  • SickOfRidiculous

Popular standards of beauty are disgusting. There is beauty in each and every individual on this planet from size 0 to 36 and beyond. Too much time is spent focusing on outer appearance. It’s no wonder so many little girls are out here with their self-esteem at the bottom of their feet and grown women literally dying from having Fix-A-Flat injected into their bodies. The women has given birth for goodness sake. So what she hasn’t lost the weight as of yet. That’s her prerogative. Maybe, just maybe she’s focused on the well-being of her child versus public opinions regarding her weight.

    • SickOfRidiculous

       The *woman* has given birth…

  • RedButterfly81

She just had a baby and she’s no Beyonce either. I would like to see how her critics look like talking smack about this beautiful woman. Her baby is her #1 priority, not her appearance!

  • Truth

It’s unfair, Beyonce was never pregnant.  Funny the most beautiful in India, looks white/European…this world continues to circle the toilet!!!

    • Results

With her nose and lips, there is nothing European about her.  Like Africa, Indian people cover a range of skin shades.

      • Truth

Would you have guessed she is from India??  She is def not the traditional looking Indian

        • Live_in_LDN

She is not traditionally looking white either. Go to your local walmart, how many white people look like her? Zilch.

      • Reevaandnls6

So true but she is the most beautiful woman in the world an her fame speaks for itself as much as I hate the indian race not as if I like any other races besides my European race………aishwarya rai is truely the most famous person in the world….proven my Oprah, david letterman,Tyra banks, will smith ,Tom cruise, brad pitt….all these famous people has confirmed Aishwarya Rai for being the biggest movie star in the history of cinema….with a fan base of 5 billion viewers……an that alone I only figure all this out today after watchin the news an payin good attention an than googling her…….so wat…its jus weight gain..it can be lost …she will be back in action soon.

    • Live_in_LDN

She does not look white at all. Stop projecting your own complexes. Go to your local Walmart. How many white people look like her? None. I went to a school in London where about 60% of the student body was Indian/Pakistani. A lot of the Indian Pakistani girls had naturally pale skin and looked like less cute versions of Aishwarya Rai.

  • JusSayin

It is simply because the world is funny. Seriously it is. No one wants the “effort” to be noticeable. Its okay to be hot only if you’re thin with the perfect figure. The moment you gain weight? u don’t appeal. They have even made women feel less beautiful after they are able to push life (literally) from between their legs? No… I am a mother. I lost the weight at a comfortable time frame. Same with her. People want to base their lives on Beyonce… U do that. Please remember how much she spends monthly on keeping “physically fit.” This situation is just so UGH! Women are forced 2 “run the world”, look beautiful, push out babies and resume being models (Heidi Klum) and be the perfect mother, wife, and business woman? Beyonce not even doing that.. Her team is. U can keep up with these male standards if u want to. I’ll pass. I’ll enjoy being me… cuz even after all that beauty.. u are still hiding who u are to impress someone who will never know the real u.

  • Cha Cha

Dang… so many people sippin on that HATERade… You’re damned if you do, damned if you don’t… so F(!@*& EM

    • http://www.therapyiseffinexpensive.wordpress.com Zan

       Basically.

  • http://kimster-thatswhatshesaid.blogspot.com/ Kimster

Haters are going to hate. Bachchan is beautiful and was awarded the title “Miss World” so people are jumping at any chance to bring her down and hurt her spirit. I’m confused. “…has sparked even more discussion about what she could possibly wear given her post-pregnancy weight” Umm, what any plus size or curvacious woman would wear. It’s not rocket science.

  • Lola

OMG, she’s human!!! If I were her, I would take the Tyra route and tell the Indian media to ‘kiss my fat a**.’ Also, please stop comparing every woman to Beyonce; there’s still a huge question as to whether she even birthed that baby!

  • Candacey Doris

So many stupid people! Women are all different so it takes us different amounts of time to lose weight! She still looks great and as long as her husband is happy, everyone else should STFU.

  • http://twitter.com/sabadaga SANDRA

In this sick world , women are only measured by their physical appearance. That’s a shame but that’s the world that we are living in.

    • Reevaandnls6

Thats because Beyonce did not give physical birth to her baby. Sorry but her timeline and that pregnancy just doesn’t add up. And please Beyonce Stans…….don’t shoot the messenger.

    • mss

stans need help with whats called brainwash. tHAt timeline is laughable.

    • Sammilu1224

      LMAO @ Beyonce Stans!

    • Results

I think if Bey was pregnant she wouldve shown her bare belly up until the day she gave birth.  And you can not work out after having a c section

    • Pfeiffer87

Who flippin cares?? You conspiracy theorists are so annoying.

      • Reevaandnls6

forget that… i wont be feeling the pressure… screw those skinny h*es.

  • Jlfgemini65

It takes “time” every women and body is different…and once again Beyounce did not give birth..

    • mss

THANKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! Its scary that someone is actually believeing that mess. Come on. Who else was that damn confusing and hard to show during a pregnancy … that is the creepiest thing. Beyonce should have never spoke on it like she doesnt talk about her dad, Wedding day, if she realizes the symbolism in her music and her lawsuits. Please I am so sick of ppl saying this mess “snapback” its a slap in the face to women like JEssica who carried a baby. This indian lady had a small frame before and still retained weight. its hard for some women than it is for others. Stop comparing all women are different

  • shelshel

Great job America! We taught the world our ignorance and especially how to embrace it. This lady gave birth to a little girl less than a year ago and everyone wants her back in size 0. Have the human brains been sacrifice for media? Please do not compare Beyonce to real mothers who really carried their children and gave birth. I’m not stating Bey’s was fake or real (I’m really done with that stupid debate) but one thing is for sure I respect this woman and others like Mariah Carey, and Jessica Simpson for embracing their motherhood bodies.

P.S for the ignorant ppl who question this lady beauty is dumb as a bag of rocks. She is still pretty even with her “double chin”

    • Sophie

Jessica isn’t appreciating her baby body that much.. the article states that she just signed a 4 million dollar contract with weight watchers… the chick wants her skinny back..

      • shelshel

Right but she is not trying to be size2 less then 3 months after giving birth. She signed does not mean she is currently training at this moment. But ALL moms want their old bodies backs after giving birth (which is fine) but the world cannot take their title “most beautiful woman in the WORLD” back because she gained a hundred lbs.

And you funny for “chick wants her skinny back” lol reminds me of J.Timberlake

        • mss

Girl Sophie have a seat. Nothing wrong with Jessica wanting to get back down to her old size. She simply stated to say she is not self conscious or ashamed of her baby weight. That does not mean she is ashamed and not proud. Sorry please stop comparing woment to Beyonce Like shel shel said … I personally never seen that much confusion over a birth. I am so sick of ppl with that ish. Lets talk about people who were no question obviously pregnant. That beyonce mess is sicknening and I am tired of ppl saying comparing her to real life situations.

  • Kaay

The indian press has always been harsh to their celebs. I think moreso than the American press. Hopefully it’s just baby weight and not some other medical condition.
