Speak On It Hov! Jay-Z Says Obama’s Statement On Gay Marriage Was The Right Thing To Do

May 15th, 2012 - By Marissa Ellis

It’s no secret that Jigga Man is one of President Barack Obama’s most popular supporters, so it comes as no surprise that the entrepreneur/philanthropist went on CNN and embraced Obama’s recent statement calling for the legalization of Gay marriage as a human rights issue. We liked what Jay-Z had to say about the matter too. Peep it in the video above.

So, black men will come out to support gay marriage and compare it with discrimination against blacks and not speak against black on black crime, some of the major issues facing our community. Wrong priority!!!

When you truly think about this issue it is the right thing to do…take GOD out of it, (which is very hard for me to do) but, everyone has a RIGHT to marry…I don’t believe in men on men etc. That’s for GOD to judge …but, they have right under the constitution ( i know I spelled it wrong) .  Rights are just that Rights…to vote, to drive to marry who we want.  It’s against my love for the (Lord) but we can’t take away
rights ..that going backward. Separate church and state.

Last I check America was established by the Puritans who I recall came to America in order to escape religious persecution and to attain religious freedom, even though the American pledge states “one nation under God” there was the good ole SEPARATION of CHURCH & STATE meaning the church no longer ran the government (church held no power over civil laws/ congress/parliament)the church can no longer make any decisions concerning the U.S Gov’t so even though according to the Bible marriage consists of a man and woman, it is the bible that christians/religious christians believe in

If America chooses to force the “christian ways of marriage” on other non-christians enforcing this religious law…then what happend to separation of church and state???? ppl should be legally free to marry how ever and whom ever they want to marry, saying they can only enter into marriage the “christian way” is basically forcing a religious way of life on other ppl…it is not complete separation of church and state if the Laws of this nation are based on the biblical laws and they enforce them….Oh The Hypocrisy of our Democracy

Granted, Jigga most likely gets his news from unreliable sources (though he probably can name more newspapers than Sarah Palin) but is he not right?  Aren’t there comparisons between the struggle of Blacks and the struggle of homosexuals?  It sickens me that Blacks would rather stand up for something WE HAVE NO PROOF EVEN EXISTS as oppose to the human rights that are right in front of our eyes, it’s even more sad because we should be able to empathize!

Even if you use the Christian argument to justify your 2nd century beliefs, shouldn’t religion adapt to the government that allows that religion to exist free from persecution and be a tax free entity!?!???  Our government (which coincidentally separates church from state) should not be forced to kowtow to religion.  This is bonkers.  People are viewing marriage as a religious thing… is that to say atheists can’t get married?  The fight for marriage equality is not dependent on God, it is dependent on the government that gives favorable benefits to those who elope.  Let these people get married already.
