You finally hooked up with your office crush, but the next day when you are full of smiles, he gives you that nonchalant head nod. The, “Hey, FRIEND” nod. On the outside, nothing has changed in your relationship, despite what happened behind closed doors. And of course, that’s how he wants to keep it. You are full of all these emotions that you can’t express because you have to keep everything on the hush, and the last thing you want to do is make a scene at work about someone acknowledging you or being more affectionate because of a relationship folks would say you shouldn’t be having.

Yo, that’s NEVER a good idea. Ever. Never date anyone from the office. If you work in business, don’t date in the industry. People move from company to company, you don’t want to go to a meeting with a new client and see your ex staring at you from across the table. Not at all cool.

Even though I was well-versed in the pitfalls of dating co-workers, I STILL foolishly went down that road and hooked up with one. I’d known him for years and we had so much in common and I THOUGHT I knew him well so I went with it. Bad move cuz he just wanted the goodies, nothing else and here I am having to pretend that we’re still cool with each other while at work when deep down I’m seething with anger and regret.
I knew better. But I thought this one situation was different (I’ve previously never pooped where I slept, no matter how tempting). It wasn’t. Learn from my mistake people. It is incredibly awkward having to play nice with a co-worker when he played you on the DL.

Def learned this the hard way. Was in college, internship where I found my boss was going thru a divorce and had a crush on me, then started dating a fellow college worker there, much to his chagrin. Broke up w/ him, and had to deal w/ animosity frm BOTH sides…and did I mention my boss already had my recommendation letters to send out to grad schools lol? I lost 20lbs =

Now that I have a REAL job, I barely SMILE at male co-workers. Not worth it!!

  It’s not fair, but this is especially true for women as they climb the corporate ladder. If you are attractive you are already being sexualized. You can’t afford to live up to the stereotype. Again, I don’t agree with that but it’s the reality.

You forgot #8: they could be crazy as hell! And its hard enough to leave a mentally unstable person, so imagine leaving one who knows where you work, what time you come in, where you take your breaks…

I had a guy at work express interest in me after we exchanged #s to discuss business opportunities….his texts went from friendly to “I know you’re feeling me by the way you look at me, you can’t deny it…” WTH! Homeboy be at work blowing me air kisses at me now! #lame

i cant believe people actually still do this in 2012. In this economy the last thing you want to do is put yourself into a situation where you can lose your job cause you couldnt keep your legs closed or ya d*ck in ya pants.

You don’t sh@t where you eat if it doesn’t work out you have to see that person every day. Unless one of you quit or get fired you will probably be miserable as h3ll so don’t do it.
