Why is a school popular?
You may be considering a handful of prestigious and reputable schools. But, remember this—at 18 years old, a lot of your decision of where to go to school was influenced by the campus life. If a school is hard to get into, it could just be because of the phenomenal neighborhood, the great extracurricular activities and its reputation for being “fun.” You in all likelihood don’t care about that fun, so you may want to consider the less “popular” and less expensive school. That lower price tag might not have anything to do with the quality of education or the reputation in the work force. It could just be because the school is in a cheaper, less “fun” neighborhood.
