Can You Separate The Controversial Artist From Their Art? 7 Celebs Who Make It Hard To…

Christina Aguilera

X-Tina has the vocal range to be a top tier diva, but it’s her antics off the stage that have earned her the diva title to many. She doesn’t hide behind a carefully crafted image and that’s to be respected, but she has rubbed almost half the industry the wrong way. The Wanted just called her out for being a b***h, Kelly Osbourne has been going in on her since the turn of the new millennium after saying Christina used to talk horribly about her, and there’s a a Youtube video of her diss list. Maybe if she were a man, certain labels wouldn’t stick as much.

I agree with all of them with the exception of Fantasia and Alicia Keys. They both made mistakes but it’s how you move on from that. I feel sorry for Fantasia and hope that she starts to put herself first and get some positive people in her life. Xtina and Kanye are just egotistical twats. I think that Chris Brown is a work in progress and people are moving towards forgiveness – hence the record sales and grammy wins. He is young and in a few years time it will be confined to the his past. As for R Kelly he was caught with KIDS and no will ever let that go.

For me it all depend on what the person did and how they handled the situation afterward…..If they truly have remorse about their bad behavior, learnt from it and trying to be a better person then I wish them the best….I will continue to support their work as an artist otherwise if not I will no longer continue to do so……I am only speaking of people I am a fan of which is not on this list.

Apparently because people still loved Michael J, R’ Kelly, Chris, Don King, Lil Kim, a plethora of white folks, and anybody else-with money.

I don’t think people really have forgiven CB, because if they had, then they wouldn’t constantly bring the Rihanna situation up after 3 years. Of course, everyone knows that, with photos of her battered face & it happening during such a high profile weekend (Grammy’s), that no one will ever forget what happened, but to constantly bring it up while he’s trying to promote albums or other career endeavors (& I find it absolutely sad that he decided not to do interviews at all this year for that very reason), it proves that the media is still not all that accepting. He’s certainly come back out on top with numerous movie roles, performing on GMA, and his welcome back to the Grammy’s this year, but there are people who still rehash that night over and over, as if to denounce him for something that happened when he was still a teenager. I am in no way condoning what Chris did, nor am I saying that he wasn’t old enough to know the consequences of his actions, but everyone makes mistakes, and it seems like the media always tries to find a way to crucify him, as if he’s never good enough, and won’t ever be good enough again. It’s sad because he is a great performer whose mistakes have been made under much public scrutiny, but when someone of another race does it (ex: Charlie Sheen), then they’re “WINNING!”

    • Ay

How exactly is Charlie Sheen winning and what does he have to do with Chris Brown?

      • @msredbonebrite

Clearly, you weren’t paying attention last year when it came up that Charlie Sheen had several domestic violence cases with his ex-girlfriend, as well as with his ex-wife. & Chris himself even referenced Charlie Sheen when bringing up the fact that everyone was praising Charlie but looking down their noses at him. Also, if you don’t know what “WINNING” means, then I don’t have anything else to say. (Moving on…)

        • Ay

          1) I know exactly what youre talking about and in no way is crackhead charlie “winning” anything.

          2) Chris Brown is a young black pop star, not a privileged wealthy white man, why you insist on bringing him up is my question.

          • @msredbonebrite

One, I didn’t “insist” on bringing him up, I simply used Charlie as an example because I’ve heard Chris reference him, and two, I didn’t say that I thought Charlie was “Winning”, I meant in the public eye, he’s considered to be “WINNING” (his words, not mine… plus, when you go on a comedy tour that rakes in $7 million immediately after these allegations are brought against you, you’re certainly not LOSING… Chris wouldn’t have been able to do that, especially since he got dropped from many endorsements after the fact) … & last time I checked, this was a blog, where every person commenting was entitled to their own opinion, which means that I can bring up any subject I feel like.

I think it depends on what they did. Crimes against children are not ok with me, not ever decades later. I refuse to listen to any song of his even on the radio while i’m driving. I think mothers who buy their daughters tickets to his concerts and tshirts with his name are a disgrace. His was not a one time crime. It is a mental sickness that will continue for life if he does not seek help. It is NOT ok.

I think people somewhat forgave Chris Brown because Rihanna seems to have forgiven him. Most people can separate the music from the person, so when he has hit after hit, the hits he put on Rihanna become a distant memory. However, when it comes to R. Kelly, most people are less forgiving because the victim was a child.

    • Love_Sexy

Co-sign…..Both situations were bad but the R Kelly was the worst….RiRi really helped Chris’s career by showing that she had moved on and maybe in a way it was a healing process for both….I had read they had been friends for awhile before becoming lovers…..Furthermore I do think she wanted to be seen as a survivor and not a victim all the time…..Maybe forgiveness was her way of doing that….I hope they both have learnt something from the situation.

People were forgiving Chris Brown when Rihanna was still in the hospital.
