Where Are They Now? The Cast of “Family Matters”

The Homies

The very funny (and stupid) Waldo Geraldo Faldo was the homie of Eddie Winslow, and not only did he keep a mean high-top fade, but he could dance. And being less than bright didn’t stop him from macking on Laura’s friend Maxine (stay tuned). After the show, he guest starred on “Moesha,” “Eve,” and “Girlfriends, as well as “The Parkers,” and is currently finishing up on the movie Hotel Arthritis.

Cherie Johnson

Johnson portrayed Laura’s best friend, Maxine, while on the show. And while she played in the background so Laura could get all the shine, in real life, Johnson is calling all the shots. After doing guest TV work for a while, Johnson started writing and producing films, including a movie called I Do…I Did (which you can find on BET sometime–of course). She’s produced eight films in all, and written two books. She’s currently working on her third, Peaches & Cream. Don’t ask…

Shavar Ross

Only around for the earlier seasons, Weasel was also Eddie Winslow’s good friend. If you’re wondering where you’ve seen this actor before, you might remember him from playing Dudley on “Diff’rent Strokes.” After the show ended, Ross did a little bit more TV work, including the recent show, “Chocolate News.” However, he got more involved in the business side of things, becoming a film director and the founder/co-editor-in-chief of ShavarRoss.com, an “infotainment blog.”
