As most of us know, it’s not just about what we put in our hair, but it’s about what we put in our bodies. Our diet heavily affects our hair’s health. Let’s care more about becoming healthy overall. After all, a healthy body equals a healthy head of hair.

Firstly, just a disclaimer, when we are saying “diet”, we don’t mean crash diets or not eating anything to get skinny. We are talking a healthy balanced diet.

Let’s talk about our intake. Earlier this week we gave you details about the vitamins, now we list some great foods that help promote #StrongerLonger hair.

Eat your breakfast! Dairy and eggs are great for you! Your hair is made of protein, so guess what? You need protein. Your hair can start thinning out when you don’t get enough protein. Whole Grain is great as well for breakfast of lunch. You can pick up a box of cereal or a healthy sandwich with whole-grain and to help prevent hair loss.

For lunch or dinner, eating salmon promotes a healthy scalp and prevents your hair and scalp from drying out! It has essential fatty acids that benefit your body and hair.

When your mom told you “Don’t forget to eat all your veggies”, it wasn’t just because she didn’t want you to waste food. Green vegetables like spinach and broccoli are really good for your body and hair. They produce sebum (the natural oil your scalp makes) and prevent your hair from drying out.

Need a healthy snack, eat some carrots. This is another great veggie that helps promote healthy growth. The best thing is, with just one carrot you have all the Vitamin A you need for the day!

Make sure you have a proper diet that makes you healthy and helps you with a healthy head of hair!
Lastly, drink at least 8 glasses of water a day!

What are some of your favorite foods that promote #LongerStronger hair?

I like your views & also agree that green leafy vegetables & carrots are best for hair health. Water is must for smoothness of hairs & it promotes well growth of hairs. Thanks for this sharing.

Don’t forget water! I have noticed a change now that I have started drinking more water( and eating more carrots, spinach and broccoli). I feel much better and my hair has grown. It hasn’t grown super long, but it has grown faster than it usually does. I don’t really know about the salmon part because I don’t eat meat, but I agree with the other parts. Good advice.

wait a minute a proper diet is essential for your entire body I get it. but how does everything on the list of healthy foods to digest contribute to healthy growing of hair? With the exception of water?

I have been saying this from day ONE! It’s what you put in your body that affects your outer body.  My sister and I NEVER used chemicals in our long nappy hair until we got to the states.

SMDH as someone who is allergic to wheat I fail to see the explanation for how wheat is good for your hair! It’s just thrown in there because it’s a healthy food imo

i have a wheat intolerance as well and i have never heard that it was good for your hair.. never ever lol.

Good for SOME people because of fiber and phytonutrients and stuff like that there, as long as it’s 100% whole wheat.  Milk is good for people who aren’t lactose intolerant.  If you’re allergic to it, it’s bad for you.
