Orchard Bank Card(s)

You kill 4 birds with 1 stone when you apply to Orchard, because your application instantly gets you considered for one of either three unsecured cards, or one secured card. The annual percentage rate on the secured card is low at 7.99%, and the $35 annual fee is waved for first year customers. The fee might sound like a pain but remember, you only want to use this card for half a year to a year simply for the purpose of improving credit and applying to a larger, unsecured card. Another perk to consider with Orchard is this: applying for a credit card instantly takes down your credit score a bit, but Orchard uses a pre-qualification process meaning that they evaluate your score before you’ve applied (i.e. before your score has gone down).
