Malinda Williams Is Not Feeling ‘Think Like A Man’

So a lot of women haven’t felt Steve Harvey’s “Think Like a Man” meme ever since his book came out a few years ago, and the corresponding movie that was just released has reignited a lot of the negative feelings women have toward the idea. You can add Malinda Williams to the list of ladies who do not approve because she recently went on a mini Twitter rant that basically said, get that ish out of here.

“God gave me the gift of being able 2think like a woman. I’m gonna hold on 2that treasure. – but I will support my fellow thesps & filmmakers,” she tweeted before adding.

“If God wanted us to think like men, he would have formed us from Adam’s brain instead of his sensitive rib. – stay in your lane.”

Tell us how you really feel! Malinda also retweeted a message from someone else that said, ““Folks better not let these movies/books take ya out of God’s grace & get put out of ya man’s place.”

I don’t know if it’s that serious, but these ladies obviously support traditional male/female roles in relationships. Judging from her comments, I take it Malinda did not contribute to the $33 million the film took in this weekend.

What do you think about her  thoughts on thinking like a man?

    Yeesssssss i agree !!!!!

Its just a movie and a funny enjoyable movie at that, its not that serious where a twitter movement needs to be started. Theres more serious things to be pissed about in my humble opinion.

I agree. We are women for a reason.  We were not made to think like a man.  God made each gender with specific qualities of being separate entities according to His will.  If we as women hold men to quality standards that will allow them to learn and respect who we are as women then a strong foundation can be built that will be pleasing to both parties.  I did see the movie and loved it as entertainment.

Someone says an opinion different than the “popular” opinion and they have to be in hater mode?? I think not! I agree with what she said, and who’s to say she even WANTED to be associated with the movie..lol! Don’t think everyone is a starving artists…some actresses just aren’t willing to take EVERY role that come their way..it’s a choice! I don’t need to think like a man when I have lady parts…lol! Come on yall..

    Signed,
I’m happy to think like a WOMAN and be HAPPILY married to a wonderful man who THINKS LIKE A MAN!

I haven’t seen the movie but anyone who learned from their mistakes and is bold enough to share with others gets my support. Keep it coming Steve!

I read the book and some of the contents makes a lot of sense.  Mistakes in relationships can be avoided is what the book is all about.  Being a woman is one of the most precious gems to a man; and if a woman shows him how preciouse she is to him, there is something he may want to work with. I really like the 90 day rule, only if you are looking for someone for a long-term partnership.

think a like a man, think like a woman, ya mamma in law, a gangster,  jew, chinese business man, your dissertation committee, the irs, definitely think like the police!

the book simply states that this is what on a very base level a man could be thinking… there is no bandwagon to jump on. its not saying ACT like a man. actually the cover says act like a lady… but anyways its just a book of opinions — some true, some stereotypical, some exaggerated. I dont get the hate against it though. no one was mad when the book think like a beyotch came out

Black People really amazes me! We b*tch & complain about how Hollywood don’t support black actors & black movies, but when one of us try to make one or make one, we come out & b*tch about it too. What REALLY do you black people want, because you can’t have it both ways…. ijs

    True Malinda!

  • fiasco

His audience is women who have no real idea how men operate, ie daughters without fathers, grandfathers in the house.

I’m reading the book now and although there are points that are problematic, there are some nuggets of good advice in there now and then. Furthermore, I don’t really saying that we should stop thinking like women and ‘think like a man’ but rather we should know how men think so that we can better manage our relationships. He’s funny, I like him,

I can’t take Steve Harvey seriously. I prefer taking advice from my parents who were married for over 3 decades and were married the right way. I respect his choice to write a book (that I will never pay to read). I might watch the movie, but it’s not that big a deal to me…just another bandwagon. If we as a society believe that our thoughts become our actions, we can’t possibly believe that it is possible to act like a lady and think like a man. I choose to act like a lady and think like one.

F*&k Steve Harvey, he’s annoying. That aside lol, I when I was growing up, I admired all things male because I always thought males were just infinitely “cooler” than females. As I got older, I began to appreciate and embrace femininity. Due to this, I think I have a nice balance of both worlds. I’m able to relate to, and analyze men to a point where they think I must of been surrounded by men all my life. Truth is, I can’t explain why I can, it just comes natural to me. I’ve always had good report with men, can easily make friends with them, and I’m thankful for THAT. My boyfriend loves me and thinks I’m a rare one. I would say that it’s a great advantage to be able to relate across the gender line.

But I will say this- the notion that a woman can be taught to “think like a man” is disingenuous. Unless there is a sincere desire to understand and open lines of communication with the opposite sex, then “leaning how to think like a man” is just a ploy.

    • JEM

blah, I meant rapport* with men

  • Jaime

Look..the movie is good. And if you let your preconceived notions about a book stop you from seeing a good black romantic comedy then you lose out. I have no use for the book, but the movie was entertaining and a lot of damn fun. The characters were played well and Kevin Hart was a damn riot!! Worth every penny. People always want to pass judgment and don’t know what they are talking about

  • Shutupaboutthesnacks

all of this advice from steve harvey and will still have a marriage issue within our community.  how about taking the advice from ”Is marriage for black people?”  that’s great advice and marriage among black women and white men are more successful than othermarital groups.

after a 10yr relationship back on the single block I decided to read “Think Like a Man”…learned some hard lessons bout dating scene but  i remained positive… after a year & a few frogs I found my prince… we even saw the movie together and thought it was entertaining and hilarious…It may not appeal to one but it may work for another…Now we are engaged getting married next month…To each his/her own…

If only we would read about what is happening to us in this nation. All of our rights are slowly being eroded while we waste time on TLAM. Get real people!

I agree with Malinda! We got enough men and women thinking and acting like each other already, lol! Know YOUR role, and he won’t have to tell you.
