Queen B Named People’s Most Beautiful Woman

April 25th, 2012 - By Brande Victorian

We already know Beyonce is a beautiful woman, but People magazine has distinguished her as the most beautiful woman in the world this year.

Every year, the magazine puts together a list of Hollywood’s most beautiful people and they say Beyonce comes in first place this year not because she’s a 16-time Grammy winner, an actress, and a style and beauty icon, but because of her new role playing mom to daughter Blue Ivy. Talking about how motherhood has affected her, Beyonce said:

“I feel more beautiful than I’ve ever felt because I’ve given birth. I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a sense of purpose on this earth.”

Everyone’s been trying to guess whether Blue Ivy is a mini-Jay or a mini-Bey since the public has only seen one set of pics of her from February, and Bey shut down any bets on who the 3-month-old most resembles.

“She looks like Blue. She’s her own person, ” she said gushing over the little one. “She’s just the cutest thing.”

Bey told the mag she often sings her own lullabies to Blue Ivy and professed to love changing diapers, but those aren’t the best things about being a mother, according to the singer who is getting ready to have her first post-pregnancy performance during Memorial Day Weekend.

“The best thing about having a daughter is having a true legacy,” she said. “The word ‘love’ means something completely different now.”

Beyonce’s full interview, along with the list of other celeb’s who made the list, including Paula Patton and Sophia Vergara, will hit newsstands in the next issue Friday.

What do you think about People‘s top choice?

I’m so happy for her! She’s a beautiful person inside and out. Haters don’t get mad that beyonces on this list whether it be envy or whatever, but you probably don’t think youre beautiful like her which is why you have a problem

That picture looks whitewashed. People didn’t wanna put her wedding pics on there cuz they said Black don’t sell. She shoulda boycotted that, but green talks and BS walks right.

    • Neecee401

Maybe its because we couldn’t find any of her wedding pics…

      • IllyPhilly

No, they (B and Jay) actually tried to sell them and it was declined. It was a issue, I guess everybody swept under the rug. I still remember though.

          • Caroneisha

Sorry sweetie, but he did have a son by a chick before he and Bey even got together. So that makes bey a step-mom.

          • IllyPhilly

Nope a boy that’s like ten by now.

    • IllyPhilly

Amen, people seem to forgot about that real quick. I swear he even put out a song about having a kid waaaay before Glory. SMH @ his song being an after thought.

You need to stop  with the insulting comments! We need to celebrate her being honored.  If PEOPLE Mag never gave a Black woman this title you would complain about that too.

      • CB3

I don’t think Nitty was insulting Beyonce as much as expressing a desire for her to be more genuine. And as a black woman I don’t feel the need to celebrate Beyonce being honored, she does enough of that all by herself. And if People Mag is just now naming a black woman as the most beautiful all the way in 2012 then a complaint might be necessary.

How do you figure Bey does that all on her own? Is it her fault that she’s so easily recognizable, or the world’s biggest (current) entertainer, or that people get on these blogs and constantly degrade her, accuse her of things that they would have no way of knowing unless they actually knew her? It’s a shame that this beautiful black woman just can’t win for losing! I can’t stand to see a post where there’s nothing but women talking DOWN about another woman, especially one that works as hard as she does! But then turn around and scream about injustices made against other BLACK WOMEN!

          ______________________________/ <—– here's a church pew for the haters! Chile, I just CAN'T!!!

          • CB3

I’m not blaming Beyonce for being recognizable, nor can I ignore that she is one of the worlds biggest entertainers. But as a household name and a public figure your going to have people on both sides. Like her don’t like her and so on, she has put herself in front of the spotlight when you do that you leave yourself and your actions open for other peoples opinion which is what my comment was.

        • @msredbonebrite

& just to be clear, I wasn’t calling you or any of the other people posting comments on here haters, I was just speaking in general! Stuff like that just burns me up!

        • Oneflynatural

Not saying that you should celebrate Beyonce per se, but Black beauty receiving this title in general.  Although we don’t need accolades from the mainstream, it is still good to see that they can recognize our beauty as well.

          Halle Berry

      • IllyPhilly

         Halle Berry had it.

    • year

So beyonce has to wear an afro and dashiki to be genuine??
Black folks and their stupid politics smh

      • IllyPhilly

No, but damn she could have had dark hair at the least. Halle’s was more genuine and she’s mixed.

  • Chicacollegebound

I absolutely love Beyonce! Her grace, poise, sophistication…she is the
true embodiment of a role model. Not only does her music transcend all
genres and cater to all groups of individuals, but, she is constantly
evolving as an artist and it bleeds through her entire being! It’s
interesting that Beyonce has grown up right before our eyes, yet she
still believes in taking care of her core inner self; and it definitely
shows ;) Age is nothing but a number B, you show ‘em! Keep doing your
thing because whatever you are doing is definitely working!!

  • @msredbonebrite

I think she is very deserving of this title, she is beautiful! And I love how despite all the negativity constantly being thrown around about this woman, she is still very graceful & humble about it all. I’ve seen Bey come a looooooooooonnnnnnnnnggggggg way since Destiny’s Child, when she could barely do interviews and was a typical teenager, letting everything people did and said about her get to her. It’s great to see her channel herself through her music and still be an awesome performer. We’ve definitely watched her grow up in the limelight, and I think People Magazine got it right!
