Brian McKnight Is Going to Show You How Your *Kitty* Works (NSFW)

April 24th, 2012 - By Veronica Wells

Oh Brian. Some people really need to learn how to stay in their lane, or at least how to venture out of their lane without losing credibility. Brian McKnight got those signals crossed today when he released a video, debuting his latest effort. The song, “If You’re Ready to Learn,” would be featured on  an upcoming “adult mixtape.” The song is not…well, I can’t describe it. Listen for yourself and then we can discuss it later. Have your headphones on deck, this is not something you want anyone to hear you listening to.

Hmmm. I’m not going to lie, his voice sounds great but the content though… *Shivers* I’m sure some of you will disagree; but this is just not right. It doesn’t coincide with who Brian has established himself to be as an artist. And furthermore how are you going to show me how my stuff works?! When he got to the squirting part, I was just too through. This could literally stand in as the soundtrack for some type of soft core adult video.

Social media outlets, including the Twitesphere that originally encouraged and provided ideas for this mixtape, have been very vocal about their aversion toward the song.

@hear_me_owt: Poor BrianMcKnight….that was…um….well frankly it made me uncomfortable watching it, like I was embarrassed for him.

@dj_RTistic: Brian McKnight is changing the game with a new genre. Ratchet & Blues FTW

@sixfoprez: It’s funny how Brian McKnight had a serious face on like he knew that song was gonna be a hit. Lol

And those are some of the nicer comments.

Unable to avoid all the backlash, Brian McKnight released this statement via his [unverified] Twitter page:

okay im taking it down and ill never do it again im putting up a safe song jeez no sense of humor but i trended for a little while

Oh yes, you sure did. More than a little while, Brian. People have been talking about this since 3 a.m. this morning. And then later he said:

its just sad that this is what i had to do to get most of these people to even acknowledge me

So does that mean, he knew it was wrong and he was just trying to get some shine? We’ll probably never know. Whether this was a serious project or not, and I’m inclined to believe it was, it’s still a pretty good way to keep his name in the limelight. Like seriously, did you think you’d ever see the day where Brian McKnight would become a trending topic?! But look what he had to do to get there…

Are you feeling the new B. McKnight jam?

Aww he’s not serious, could never be.. not the classy Brian McKnight doing such a vulgar song.   He just wanted to create a buzz to get his new album out and I think he succeeded tremendously LOL  PUBLICITY STUNT!!!!!!!!!.  Look at his mouth….he’s trying to conceal a smile

  • Patricewilliams30

R Kelly does it all the time…..y not Brian McKnight

    • Mls2698

Because I don’t know what’s worse…..R Kelly messing with little girls, or Brian Mcknight pretending to like women.

  • Oneflynatural

OMG did he really just say that? I can’t believe he just said that! This is one song I am not supporting…

I think he was just trying to attract some attention for the upcoming album. I hope so, anyway. The thing is, so many women would not even listen to the song, just his beautiful voice. He could actually release that and sell.

Yeahhhh…… I felt a little embarrassed for him. He’s wayyyy too old to think this is okay. Shaking my head…….fade to black……THE END!

I think the song could be a hit if he takes out the vulgar words, love the rhythm… have not heard from him in a min, i almost forgot that he can actually blow (no bunt intended) lol

I love me some Brian, just think its really funny, i am  surprised he was able to sing those lyrics with a straight face! lol

  • Rain

NO, Brian I just can’t with you you are just too old for this leave this to the new people drake, trey, chris, wayne etc.

I have no problem with this song. 1. He explained the story behind it, he explained that the idea was for an “adult” mix tape. 2.The song actually sounds good, it’s in his traditional style of music and he has the talent to back it up. 3. I would say no if he’d recorded the song as if it were the kind of of hip-hop/R&B style of music that trey songz or chris brown would make. 4. it’s not even an official single, it could never be. He’s doing it because he enjoys music. 5. People act like they’ve never heard the term before? This is a grown man talking, he has sex too. good nasty sex that some people wish they were having it seems… All of his kids are adults at this point as well so he isn’t shaming anyone. 6. Do you know how many grown women out here that truly DON’T know how to make their cookie work? I personally can’t wait to hear the finished product.
