I take multivitamins along with my fatty acids. I also make sure I eat well balanced meals and stay hydrated especially in this heat. My hair is super thick and manageable. :)

I have not tried vtamins for hair growth.  I am 44 and I have always had short, curly very thin hair that has never grown past my ears, while the rest of my family has very thick and hair that goes at least to their shoulders. Yes I did ask if I am related by blood.  I can count the numbers of perms I had in my lifetime on my hands. But I had lots of weaves, pony tails, and micro braids. So as a result, my edges are thining, I have a bald spot at the top of my head, and the back of my head will not grow at all because scar tissue due to surgery and ingrown hair bumps.  What can I do….I am ready to throw my wigs out.  My self-esteem is very low as a result and NO MAN has been MY hair!

First, let me tell you that I can understand your pain as it relates to hair loss. I have had an on-going battle with a bald spot in lower right side of my head. It has been linked to Vitamin D deficiency, iron deficiency, and even scalp fungus. I would suggest that you evaluate the following : a) your diet (and include a multi-vitamin with aforementioned vitamins listed as well as fish oil); b) your iron, thyroid, and vitamin D levels; and c) scalp fungus (even though it is rare in adults I’ve noticed that when I had a nail fungus from a bad pedicure, my “spot” was thinner). Also, try to leave the weaves and microbraids alone so your edges can rest. I would suggest a wig (whereby you do NOT use the hair clips) so your real hair can have time – and space — to grow back. Keep your faith up while you do these things and you’re hair will grow back (it may take anywhere from 3 – 9 months before you start to see significant growth, though).

I’m so sorry. I don’t know much about balding, but I do know that when my nephew was little and hair wasn’t growing in the back of his head, we would massage it with natural oils. His hair grew in no time. Olive oil and castor oil are like hair crack.
