Seal up your home
If you have an old apartment or house with windows that don’t close all the way, or have holes, pick up some inexpensive plastic to seal them completely. Those holes are leaking out your precious AC! Also, shut doors to unoccupied rooms and shut their vents so that the cold air is concentrated in the populated areas of your home.
