Too Soon? SNL Spoofs Trayvon Martin Coverage

I know. It made me cringe too. The idea of spoofing anything so serious never seems like a good idea and considering we’re talking about a case where we’re just barely starting to make steps in the direction of justice, most people are thinking this spoof is way too soon or shouldn’t have happened at all.

Of course that never stops comedians, and this weekend “Saturday Night Live” used the Trayvon Martin case as the basis of one of their skits. While the jokes were really on Piers Morgan, Kim Kardashian, and Kanye West, and definitely roused some laughs, the teenager’s tragic death as the backdrop just seemed a tad off.

Check out the skit and tell us what you think, fair play or too insensitive?

Do you think his parents thought this was funny?  Some things SHOULD be off limits.  This was completely distasteful.  Probably why I do not watch SNL anyway,

  • Huggs2012

Damn we have hit rock bottom, MN. The joke is on the media.

They aren’t making fun off the case or Trayvon, just how piers morgan handled it. And piers morgan did a pretty s****y interview with zimmerman’s bro that was so s****y, that tours had to confront him about it on his show, so yeah, it’s good that snl made a joke of pirece morgan.

First of all this wasn’t a spoof of Trayvon Martin coverage, it was a spoof of Piers Morgan and his incompetence as a news broadcaster.  Second of all I find it interesting that you all want to post an “article” about skit that was actually really funny and not address how people on Facebook were using using the Trayvon Martin case as photo ops and reasons to get people to like their status as a mere popularity contest, (same as they did with the Planking trend).  Where’s that article at?

This was not worth a blog post. but I did enjoy the video. It had nothing really to do with Trayvons case but everything with how ridiculous the news has gotten

    I thought this was hilarious.

*Blank Stare @Madam Noire* Really??? ummmmm slow news day Madam????

Well at first I was concerned but when I actually watched it there were no jokes made directly about Trayvon Martin. There were barely any jokes made about Zimmerman. It was more a parody of how the “news” programs ask these random dumb celebrities their opinions though most people don’t care what they have to say. The skit was funny to me.

This website sucks, considering there was no jokes concerning Trayvon Martin or the case. Only talking about the inept reporting of Piers Morgan and stupid celebrities, Madame Noire is really searching for relevance with this half a** researched topic.

Same thing I was thinking.. Seems like their running out of topics to compete with the other blogs.. Smh

Oh lighten the hell up you two, keep it moving with your negativity. I enjoy this site.
