10 Years Later, Morgan Freeman Says He’s Not Marrying Step-Granddaughter

Well this is interesting—and totally random. After 10 years of speculation, Morgan Freeman has finally decided to address rumors that he has been in a relationship with his step-granddaughter, E’Dena Hines, by saying the reports are completely false. According to TMZ, the actor put out a statement that reads:

“The recent reports of any pending marriage or romantic relationship of me to anyone are defamatory fabrications from the tabloid media designed to sell papers. What is even more alarming is that these fabrications are now being picked up by the legitimate press as well.”

I find it a little alarming that he’s just speaking out now. According to his rep, Morgan didn’t want to ”dignify these stories by commenting” but now that the “mainstream media” is picking up the story he felt compelled to say something. I get it, but I would think the time when the news first surfaced and E’Dena was only 17 and he was 64 would’ve been a good time, or when he divorced his wife and many assumed this affair was the reason would have been a suitable time as well. Nevertheless, now at 27 and 74, both Morgan and his step-granddaughter have decided to speak up. E’Dena released her own separate statement, saying:

“These stories about me and my grandfather are not only untrue, they are also hurtful to me and my family.”

I guess this is a situation where the saying better late than never applies. Something still seems a little off, though.

Do you think it’s odd Morgan Freeman waited so long to speak up about this rumored relationship?

Disappointed in this post MN..you are jumping on the bandwagon yourself and specutlating. So what if he comments now? You’re perpetuating this…Let’s give respect where respect is due, and support Mr. Freeman in any way we can. Lord knows others try to hold our people down, let’s not help them.

When “Lean on Me” came out, the co-starring high-school-student female character depicted coulda BEEN E’dena. Lest we forget; He was 47 when his ex-wife’s grand-daughter was born. I concur with the author that anyone would common sense INDEED “think the time when the news first surfaced and E’Dena was only 17 and
he was 64 would’ve been a good time, or when he divorced his wife and
many assumed this affair was the reason would have been a suitable time
as well”.  If a female was to take on a male 47 years younger, she’d be forty ‘ cradle-robbin cougars’ and he’d be eighty ‘gigolos’——and gawd help her if SHE woulda used to be married to the fella’s GRANDPA.  I could go on and on…but I’m trying to retain my appetite for breakfast – so let me go before it’s too late!!!

      huh?!

So sorry  “SuperYoung”….for referncing the early 80′s AND using words like ‘concur’, ‘indeed’,'cradle-robbin’, ‘cougar’, ‘gigolo’ and ‘retain’.  Get on bing.com and you’ll find answers possibly more your speed.  “Lean on Me” is a movie btw. A ‘gigolo’ is a (usually younger) male who feigns (which means pretends) attraction and affections for a (usually older) female with the intent (which means plan) of trickin her outta her dough (which means swindling her financially in Grown Up terminology [terminology means wording]). ‘Cougar’ is the term used for an older woman with a younger man. #CommonSenseAINTCommon!#

        huh?!

I understand all your terminology I think the “huh” was for all the lack of correct and coherent grammar in between. I said huh as well! Maybe you should re-read your reply SLOWLY to understand why people can’t understand you completely. You’re right about one thing! Common sense isn’t that common, you’re a prime example. To top it off you’re rude in order to defend your ignorance.
