For the folks that are abusing the system … STOP IT!

There are so many people starving and homeless in America that really need the help from social programs funded by the federal and state governments and even more Republicans ready to cut all programs for the actions of a few.

All they need is excuses like folks using the money on their EBT cards to buy drugs and cigarettes. But, one dude takes it even further than that.

    I agree.  The sad thing is that some people look at these examples and use them as justification for denying impoverished addicts access to drug treatment.  We need to make sure our tax dollars are going to help THEM – not people like this who abuse the system.

    I work evry day. I can barely pay for my and my teen daughter’s necessary items plus rent and utilities. My ex-husband act like the court ordered child support is killing him (he hasn’t paid in 4 years). The state barely allows me $200 in food stamps…so how can a known DRUG DEALER get benefits??? And then use said benefits for bail???? No wonder they say the program “going broke”..SMH This is why people who truly need assitance can’t get it.

    What state is this in?  In Texas if you have a previous drug conviction you are ineligible to receive goverment benefits, unless you use someone else’s card.

      That should be the law in all states…if you use, buy, deal illegal (controlled) drugs..you don’t need government benefits. If you ALLOW someone who does/did such to use your card in an illegal manner…you lose YOUR benefits..

    When a person can afford a trip to Hawaii and use their EBT to fund it, this crap, as trifiling as it is, comes as no suprise.  When you have fast food places accepting the problem is the system.  A huge overhaul must be done in order to combat this problem.  They need to tighten the rules so until then don’t be surprised if they can pay for and travel to Europe!

      It is the welfare system, they allowed cash benefits on therse cards.
      They need to go back to the old days and give them the book of coupons instead of the cards. THIS IS TERRIBLE. There are people out here that really need help and living pay check to paycheck and they give assistance to people like that. ONLY IN AMERICA !
