It’s the end of the week, Madames! Time to check in with our editors and see what they’re loving and not so loving about the week:

Madonna Love: I’m forced to get back to work on my memoir soon (God help me!). As I started the oh-so-lovely process of re-outlining the book this week, I realized just how much Madonna is a part of my international memory…shout to my mommy and daddy’s ‘Papa Don’t Preach’ vinyl record, circa 1980-whatever.

‘Jersey Shore’ Love: Look, no matter how sophisticated you are in this world, you may still need a reality (

Reggae Love: OMG. I like, totally just discovered this artist, Busy Signal and his song, “Cool Baby.” Where have I been?

Solange Love: I think I like her Twitter page

Fashion Love: Cargo Khakis: The trend now is to wear them with a slimmer fit and they have a little stretch. I think these will be part of my uniform for the fall.

Hip-Hop Love: D-Nice True Hip Hop Stories: You may have been to one of the many parties he has DJ’d around the country, but my friend Derrick “D-Nice” Jones is a skilled photographer and videographer. He flexes those skills with his series of interviews with hip-hop’s finest called True Hip-Hop Stories. This week, after a bit of a break, D-Nice returns with Pharoahe Monch.

Chocolate Love: I’m a food nerd, so while I much prefer a Valrhona chocolate over Hershey’s chocolate bar, I’m excited to be headed to

Back-to-School Love: My baby girl is starting Pre-K in a few weeks and I’m up to my eyes in fall fashion, lunch boxes, and backpacks. I’m obsessed with this puffer backpack for her. It’s made in Italy (only available at Serena & Lily), but the price ($118!!) may keep it in my dreams. Good thing she doesn’t know about i

Film Love: You always know Spike Lee will keep it real. Was excited to see a screening and speak with the seasoned filmmaker about his new project “If God is Willing and Da Creek Don’t Rise.”

Purse Love: Love, love, love the Missoni Margherita clutch in the ”

New Artist Love: Went to a listening session for Nate Walka this week. The Grammy winner who wrote “Blame It” with Jamie Foxx and “Say Ahh” with Trey Songz is running solo and got love from the crowd at Stay Lounge. Such a down-to-earth and talented guy.

Old Artist Love: Ever since I found out that Mary J. Blige will begin filming a Nina Simone biopic in September, I’ve challenged myself to learn as much as possible about the “I Put a Spell on You” singer. Watching “Nina Simone: The Legend” helped.
