Evening Eye Candy: Serge Ibaka

April 9th, 2012 - By Clarke Gail Baines

Allegedly, Serge Ibaka, born in the Democratic Republic of Congo if you were wondering, plays a mighty nice game of basketball as a power forward for the Oklahoma City Thunder. But I can’t really attest to that because when I see the man on television, I’m usually paying more attention to his looks as opposed to his athletic capabilities (What? I’m just keeping it real). If you’ve ever seen Ibaka, I’m sure you would agree with me, because he’s clearly a smooth and delicious piece of chocolate. But if you haven’t, it’s about time you get acquainted with 6’10″ stunner. Here’s your chance!

way too much man for me. plus them foreign brothers be possessive. nice to look at tho

    • Am3lya_tandi

that’s generalizing… and I could say “at least they stay with their children” that wouldn’t be nice would it?

    • love

It depends on your definition of possessive. Normal expectation from a man, not allowing you to boss him around, putting you in check about your attitude sometimes, not letting you do whatever you want,  doing regular chores not just gossiping or getting your hair done or nails when you can be doing something more productive. Black women are very hard to deal with, they want to wear the pant, which explains why many of them are single and unmarried.

Anyways, I’m sure ibaka already has a fiance back home already, just like mutumbo, who’s also in the nba did, before he married her. But mutumbo had a white gf, but he got rid of her and married a girl from his tribe. Most rich and popular congolese stars usually do this, even though he may have a gf at the time from another country.

    • Am3lya_tandi

Rumour has it that he’s Rwandese so he might marry anybody… Mutombo is Luba and they are VERY tribal

      • CarlaKah

yup I am Luba an know this!

  • beauty

I’m American but love ethnic men especially African men.  Ibaka is the definition of fineness.

  • Cutiepie

    * he and I should get married.

    • UK lady

lol @ Cutipie. Join the queue!

  • Cutiepie

I’m congolese too from drc, so I think me and him should get married

    • CarlaKah

      so am I lol

  • Jud Jud

    yeah he’s definitely a cutie !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Smacks_hoes

  • JUST SAYING

And I’d like to specify that there are TWO congo’s. Democratic Republic of Congo and Congo Brazzaville. Serge is from Congo Brazzaville nore DR Congo. Get your facts straight.

    • Gaselletutu

He doesn’t have any rwandan in him,you should check your fact!!!!

      • Am3lya_tandi

Rwandese love claiming people all over… I thought rwandese names were full of R lol…Ibaka sounds Congolese to me and his last name is Ngobila which is VERY Congolese as there many tribes and many names in Congo so to say that a name isn’t Congolese doesn’t mean much. Also to say that someone doesn’t  look Congolese is also ridiculous because of the many ethnicities in the country. Congo  Brazaville have less ethnic groups than D.R.C but some of their tribes share similar things and his mum is from Kinshasa. Rwandese on the other hand have def. nothing to do with the two Congos…

    • Lil_nsyne

The man was born in Congo, he’s Congolese. stop making things so complicated, lol.

      • dandipuffs

Just saying has a point. If you talk to people from both countries there is a big difference. And it’s true that his name doesn’t at all sound Congolese… Anyway all that aside dude is foine!

        • Mirielle

No honey if you speak to people from both Congos there are a lot of similarities than differences bcs these two countries plus Angola were one kingdom (Kongo kingdom) before the white man came and divided it cos it was too big to be one.     They both speak French, lingala and kongo as well as other dialects. They eat mostly the same food but different cooking method and the way they marry traditionally is the same with the same ceremony, the same type of music. Them and Angola are basically the same people separated by the white man. I know this cos my family is from DRCongo and Angola and my fiancé is both Congos born in Brazzaville.
Anyway I don’t know this guy but he’s gorgeous his skin is beautiful and where he’s from doesn’t take away from his beauty, his body is a work of art.

        • Am3lya_tandi

Yup Mirielle is right. Both Congo’s don’t really consider themselves that different, it’s the river that separates us, I have family from both sides and we always make fun of each other about petty stuff but that’s normal. Now the people on the Eastern part, that’s another story… Especially Rwandan/Rwandese whatever you say it in English, they just LOOOOVE divistion. One word GENOCIDE.

      • JUST SAYING

The way us Africans see it isn’t like Americans see it. If you’re originated from Rwanda and you’re born in Congo, you will for ever be RWANDESE. end of story

        • Am3lya_tandi

but he is NOT Rwandese.. Get over it, you have Corneille and that skinny dude from Belgium who made that popular song that everybody liked… This one is not yours sorry…

        • Kenedy

My family originated from Uganda, & Sudan, but i was born in Kenya…so this whole entire time i’ve been wrong by considering myself Kenyan? I think not. But you stick with your opinion & i’ll stick with mine…k?

    • Janee

Come on y’all…stop arguing about where he’s from and just enjoy the view!

  • Just saying

This man may be born in DR Congo but he sure as hell is no Congolese. His name ‘ Ibaka ‘ is Rwanda and his features highly suggest he’s of Rwanda origin. I doubt the people of the Congo praise him but rather the people of Rwanda.

    • Am3lya_tandi

if he’s indeed Rwandese we don’t want him anyway… So you can claim him all you want.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=515382904 Marnesia Dangmamimi Jones

Dammmmmmm he is fine azzz helllllllll he can get it and im not into darker men i usually prefer light skin pretty boys but he can get it in the worst way.

    • Tarell

His whole body a gift of art from
god .. have mercy ..what a blessing
