Pam Grier Wants to be Played by Halle Berry in Biopic

Remember when Aretha Franklin said she wanted Halle Berry to play her in a biopic? Well now another well-known star is looking for Ms. Berry to bring her story to life, but this time the idea is a little more realistic.

Pam Grier’s best-selling autobiography, “Foxy: My Life In Three Acts,” has been optioned for a big screen debut by Imprint Entertainment and Ms. Grier has reportedly said she’d like to see Halle Berry play her on screen if the project gets the go-ahead. Pam Grier’s blaxploitation character Foxy Brown has been an undying sex symbol for men of all races since the ’70s so it makes sense to tell the story of the woman behind the character on film. According to Shadow and Act, TV producer/screenwriter Eunetta Boone  has been hired to adapt the book into a screenplay, and Michael Becker of Imprint Entertainment says:

“’Foxy’ succeeds at a stark impression of Grier’s courage and inner strength without the use of rose-colored glasses. Imprint Entertainment looks forward to bringing this triumphant story to life.”

I can see Halle Berry doing the part justice—if she would even agree to play the role—but somehow I foresee Beyonce’s name getting thrown into the mix before all is said and done considering that stint as Foxy Cleopatra in the Austin Powers movie “Goldmember.”

Do you think Halle is a good choice to play Pam Grier or do you have another actress in mind for the part?

I’m seeing the idea of Vivica, Taraji or Paula Patton as well.  Paula and Taraji are the better fits out of the three in terms of physical appearance, Taraji is also the ideal height as well and she has that capability vocally to invoke the essence of a young Pam Grier as well.  Sanaa, Halle and Beyonce’ are all no, nos!  Whoever gets to play her better be glad to have been selected to portray such an iconic AFRO-AMERICAN WOMAN!!!

Megan Goode should play her. She’s got the look and the fever.

My first choice would be Taraji….she is an excellent actress.  However Salli Richardson looks most like her and she can be gritty Which also makes her a good choice. Lastly Beyonce I too like her in movies. i think with enough training she will be a great actress.

YESSSS!! SALLY RICHARSIN – PERFECT!!! The 1st time I saw her (in POSSE)  I thought that she and Pam were related – AND – she’s a WONDERFUL Actress!! She could pull it off – the WHOLE story and it could push another African-American actress forward into the ‘lime lite’ where they deserve to be!! I hope Pam’s story get’s to be presented ( I read the book – it’s inspiring – was a STUDENT of her movies :) )  If TOLD right – it could be an inspiration to MANY young ladies around the GLOBE!! …young MEN too!!

Halle Berry, may be 46 but she doesn’t look it at all. Any time u can walk the streets of Beverly Hills without a stitch of makeup on and still look amazing, come on now. U may not like her, but degrading her on here is totally uncalled for. Salli Richardson would be a great pick, she definitely has that strong powerful attitude like Foxy brown. Also Ms Lathan, would also be another great pick. Let’s just all be adult about our comments regarding this. peace and much love 2 all….
