Tamera Mowry Lands Role In Fox Pilot

Tamera Mowry said once the honey moon was over she wanted to jump right back into acting and it appears she’s doing just that. The “Sister Sister” and “Strong Medicine” veteran has landed a role on the Fox pilot “Rebounding.”

According to reports, the sitcom is about “a man recovering from the death of his fiancé with the help of the idiots on his pickup basketball team.” The show is supposed to be an uplifting comedy and Tamera will play the role of Vanessa, although it hasn’t been revealed how she fits into the overall cast yet. Will Forte will play Danny, the character who lost his fiancé, and Tamera has also mentioned acting alongside Malcolm Barrett.

We’ve yet to see Tamera star in a comedy which is odd for such a funny girl so this show could be perfect for her. I’m excited to see how it works out. Sidenote: Is it just me or does it seem like there are going to be a lot more brown faces on the major TV networks this Fall?

Are you happy to see Tamera act again?

    I am happy for her…

I hope no one is throwing chicken wings at her like her twin had to endure on “The Game.” They both are way too talented for that.

In response to the blurb of this article, I must concur, more minorities are seen on television, not just on shows but even commercials too.  I feel this became noticeable when Obama was elected.  The other day I saw a Black male model in an Eddie Bauer catalog kayaking… I ain’t trying to hold us back or nothing, but how many brothers you know (a). wearing Eddie Bauer and (b). kayaking  ???

I am very excited for her. I love the twins like family.

Man has a limited biological capacity for change.
When this capacity is overwhelmed, the capacity is in future shock.

      Sounds like bullish.

I am so excited to see more brown faces on tv these days. It’s good to see that African Americans are getting our own leads in regards to the media.

Yup i miss the 1990s. When I was a little kid, it seems like you couldn’t change the channel without seeing a good show with a black cast or lead, like Family Matters, Sister Sister, Fresh Prince, etc. Don’t know why they stopped b/c white people my age have good memories of a lot of these shows, too…
