When the odds are stacked against and you still go after your dreams–that is when you truly become fearless. When money is a factor, reputation and success are on the line and you continue to walk through the door of uncertainty to get to your goals–that’s when you are considered a true fighter. Even at the peak of the worst recession the U.S. has dealt with in years, at 25, Stefanie McDonald followed her heart and became the owner of Celeb-N-Couture, a fashion boutique in Brooklyn, New York.

Real Name: Stefanie Mcdonald

Alter Ego: “Stef  The Celeb”

Location: Brooklyn, NY

Ordinary Role: Boutique Owner

Secret Powers: The power of charm. I can make people feel like they’re on top of the world.

Incognito Aesthetic: Ummmm..I love my whole body but I guess if I absolutely had to choose it would be my legs.

Superhero’s Creed: Ain’t nothing to it but to do it!

A Recent Test: The biggest challenge I have is to keep my boutique up and running. With the economy the way it is, and businesses closing down everyday, I have to constantly brainstorm and find ways to keep people interested in spending their money here. The constant brainstorming has prepared me to take the next big step in my life and business. I have something up my sleeve that people are definitely not expecting. But that’s what it’s all about..Shocking the world.

Putting Your Powers to Use: Currently all of my time goes into working on things for my store. Over these last few months I’ve learned a lot about the business world. I’m putting that knowledge to good use by hiring 3 interns, and teaching them as much as I can about how to run their own businesses. I think that I’m a superhero because I’m handling my business with almost all of the cards stacked against me. I’m black, from the projects, and I’m a female. But I still went to college, graduated, and formed my own business all before I turned 25 years old. I believe that other young women can look at me as an example, and see that nothing is impossible when you’re willing to work hard for it.
