6 Ratchet Behaviors Ig’nant People Should Give Up for Lent

February 24th, 2012 - By Renay Alize

In the Christian tradition, Lenten season is a period of prayer, good works and sacrifice in the forty days leading up to the Thursday before Easter Sunday. Traditionally people give up something in order to show their dedication to God. Whether you’ve decided to subtract or add something to your daily routine, we can all make improvements. While we all could stand to grow, there are some of us who are out here living the trife life. Sad thing is, many of these people don’t even know it. Here’s what these individuals should eliminate for lent, if not forever.

Seems to be a trend here where authors with no kids seem to pass judgement and attempt to chastise parents who try to discipline their children. There also seems to be an emphasis on the fact that it is done publicly, suggesting that it is ok to do so at home. Here’s a suggestion, write and article educating parents on ways to raise kids without yelling, cursing or spanking. Use your voice to offer solutions. Maybe interview and expert or two actually do some research and show how those negative behaviors hurt the kids. Anybody can give their opinion. We get it you have an opinion. Now instead of just letting us know how you feel and getting paid for it, I challenge you to go a step further and write an informed article with depth and range!

Fool who wrote this is so guiltily ridden with the thoughts of what he or she  thinks white people may think about them that they just figured telln everybody else not to eat chicken in any public vicinity was normal and not ignant lol

Great article.  I can’t stand to see people cursing at their kids either, epsecially when they start crying.

Hmmmm eating chicken in public is “ig’nant” but what about potato chips, hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza???

Hmm yeah I do think you are playing into the stereotype.

I really regret wasting my time scrolling through this garbage. This sounded like a funny article.. I figure it would have more than just some stereotypical humor.

It probably took this guy 20 seconds to come up with this crap. There was no real attempt to say anything that would make you at least mildly think about it.

This is like the difference between white comedy and black comedy.. Seriously this was awful.. put a little more time into your articles going forward. From where I stand.. you seem like kind of the “IGNANT” one yourself.

-calling friends B*tch or H0.. It’s time we guarded our tongues and said only uplifting things to the people we care about. : )

Can MN watch the grammatical errors? Too vs. Two. Also, eating fried chicken in public is not ignorant. That’s the only thing on this list I take issue with. If I am in a place where it’s okay to eat (like a park) and I feel like eating fried chicken, then I’ll eat it.

I understand on the bus your not supposed to eat on the bus but why not eat whatever you want in places where eating is allowed o_0

  • RedButterfly81

  • Octobermom

You left out one important one. Cutting a fool in the workplace

  • NSimonefan

I’ll also add for ignorant people when teaching your children manners and respecting others:
    1) Don’t say rude things about people to your child or in front of your child.
    2) Don’t stand by as a silent witness and not correct your child when he or she says something rude to someone.
    3) Don’t cosign and laugh at your child’s rude comments about someone.
Not only are these behaviors indicative of someone who has no home training, it is a recipe for your child being a bully, getting their butt kicked, or someone busting a cap in their you-no-what!

For Lent I’m giving up both my sugar daddies, HSN and QVC and my side dude TeamBeachbody.

this article hit it on the head….its so true, so sad

  • F3ral Anarchy

-being loud and obnoxious on public transportation, using the N word in public, allowing your children to run loose in public

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/HB2EZDGOE26ZXUUUH666QOL2ZQ Lola

Yes, being loud and obnoxious ANYWHERE should be given up permanently.

    • Nina Dashotta

I agree with the N word. I’m trying to get my husband out of that. We talk to each other like homeboys…literally “dawg” and “Brah” LOL although we have been doing that for 8 years, I just cringe when he goes in with the N word.

-calling your friends b***h or ho. It’s time we guarded our tongues and said uplifting things to the people we love. : )

  • L-Boogie

I am not Catholic and these behaviors do not apply to me.

    • Cha-Cha

What do these behaviors have to do with being Catholic?

      • L-Boogie

I am not downing Catholics or Catholicism. If it came off that way I apologize.

    • http://www.youtube.com/user/TheSapphireEmpress96?feature=mhee A.J.

It’s not just a Catholic thing.  Protestants can and do celebrate Lent as well.  None of the behaviors listed apply to me either, but I hear where the article’s coming from.  I think we all know someone who needs to cut some of these out.
