Star Jones’ Return To The View “Awkwardly Awesome?”

Headline News correspondent Nischelle Turner called Star Jones’ appearance on The View “awkwardly” awesome and that was a great way to describe it. Six years after she left The View in a storm of controversy, Star Jones proved just why she wasn’t a good fit for The View. During her guest appearance on the show yesterday, Barbara Walters took the opportunity to ask Jones about why she decided to surprise her co-hosts with the news of her departure on air. Jones responded defensively, even asking Barbara why she still cared. Walters shot back saying that the question surrounding Jones’ departure still haunted the show. It was obvious that Jones wasn’t going to cooperate so easily even though she warmed up to the gals later. Check out the video of her appearance and let us know what you think.

    If the decision was made not to renew her contract, then how do you drop the decision for her leaving in her lap? Usually when someone tells you, “You know I’m on your side”, but you’re not hearing the conversations they’re involved in about you, you’d better not have much faith in that.

    And that mess started with ugmo, Rosie O’Donnell, who kept insisting that Star Jones needed to confess how she lost the weight, as if it was really anyone’s business and she was obligated to say.

    Star did a good job handling questions that had nothing to do with why she was appearing on the show. Barbara could have easily resolved whatever unresolved issues behind closed doors for the past 6 years. Bringing it public was for herself, not to answer everyone’s inquiries. No one cared.

    It wasn’t awkward to me until they mentioned her Gastric Bypass surgery but at least she was open about it.  I loved Whoppi’s “I don’t give a sh*t” face that whole time!
