Discussion of the Day: What Is Your Workout Plan?
I’m always thinking about working out, but whether or not I get around to doing it is another story.
On Tuesday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released the news that adult obesity in America is growing and growing: “In 2009, about 2.4 million more adults were obese than in 2007. This epidemic has affected every part of the United States. In every state, more than 15% of adults are obese, and in nine states, over 30% of adults are obese.” In the state-by-state breakdown, Colorado and Washington D.C. are the least obese cities; Mississippi has the highest rate of obesity in the United States.
So, it’s no mystery that we all need to workout on the regular and make it a lifetime commitment, not just because we have a wedding or reunion to attend. It is recommended that every one do 30 minute workouts at least three times a week. Are you getting that in Madames?
Lately, I’ve been doing Jillian Michaels‘ workouts in my living room a few times a week, but talking to the ladies who created Black Girls RUN! has definitely inspired me to start running and really get my workout plan in motion.
What is your workout plan? Do you go to a gym? Have a trainer? Have you crafted your own workout plan? Bike ride? Yoga?
