Love her or hate her Madame Tionna Smalls is a force to be reckoned with. The co-star of VH1’s hit show What Chilli Wants, featuring TLC singer Madame Rozanda “Chilli” Thomas (renewed for a second season, minus Smalls) she’s a straight-shooter who gives no-holds-barred love advice. So what’s to hate?

Not everyone wants to know or can handle hearing what they need to hear, especially when it comes to romance. Is that what happened when Tionna gave Chilli love advice? The tension between these two strong women was obvious… Smalls would rather not address that topic and there are enough rumors on the blogs, but she did have other things to share with Madame Noire.

“I’ve been doing this love advice thing for a while now,” Tionna says in her usual matter-of-fact tone. “Three years ago a had a very popular relationship column on Gawker and I self-published a book.” Tionna says she never called herself a “relationship expert,” that’s the moniker the folks at VH1 — who by the way, approached Smalls to do What Chilli Wants — gave her.

Smalls, who is now recognized wherever she goes and has growing list of Twitter followers since her TV stint, says one of the most common questions she gets asked is about her own personal life. Inquiring minds want to know what’s going on in Smalls’ love life. “I’m currently in a very loving, long-time, committed relationship,” she says. “They didn’t show that on What Chilli Wants and I wish they would have, but everybody who knows me knows I’m in a relationship.”

So what is the most important relationship advice Smalls gives to ladies?: “My main one? A woman has to keep a hobby. When we fall in love, we don’t hang with our ladies, we don’t go on those cute shopping trips or have lunches. We tend to lose ourselves. A man gets very bored with a woman who doesn’t have anything to do. Ladies, please keep the things that you love to do in your life before you met him.”
