Victoria’s Secret Angel Quits Runway to Save Body for Husband

February 8th, 2012 - By Brande Victorian

It’s not every day that a girl get’s the chance to become a Victoria Secret model, but Kylie Bisutti, a model in one of the lingerie brands most coveted positions—an angel—recently walked away from it all to honor her husband and her commitment to God.

Kylie won Victoria Secret’s model search in 2009 at the age of 19, and although she enjoyed the perks that came along with the job, she said she started to feel torn spiritually.

“Victoria’s Secret was my absolutely biggest goal in life, and it was all I ever wanted career-wise,” she told FOX411’s Pop Tarts. I actually loved it while I was there, it was so much fun and I had a blast. But the more I was modeling lingerie, and lingerie isn’t clothing, I just started becoming more uncomfortable with it because of my faith…

“I’m Christian, and reading the Bible more, I was becoming more convicted about it.”

Kylie’s marriage was also a big part of her decision to leave the brand. She got married right before winning the model search nearly three years ago, and said didn’t feel comfortable posing for men’s magazines and baring her body for other people.

“My body should only be for my husband and it’s just a sacred thing,” she said. “I didn’t really want to be that kind of role model for younger girls because I had a lot of younger Christian girls that were looking up to me and then thinking that it was okay for them to walk around and show their bodies in lingerie to guys.

“It was pretty crazy because I finally achieved my biggest dream, the dream that I always wanted, but when I finally got it, it wasn’t all that I thought it would be. Especially being married I just wanted to keep my marriage sacred because divorce rates now in America are pretty high, and I just want to do everything I can to keep my marriage special.”

Although Kylie has hung up her angel wings, she’s not done with modeling completely. She’s currently appearing in a new Kohl’s commercial with Jennifer Lopez and she’ll be working on a new show on the CW in September. At the end of the day, she says her decision was for the better.
“It is a very hard industry to be in without falling into things you don’t want to do,” she said. “I’ve fallen into many things that I wouldn’t have wanted to do, it’s a very tempting industry.”

Convenient how she waited until she’d made some money off it before having this ‘epiphany’, does she expect us to believe she had no idea what lingerie modelling entailed?

So if you do something that is against your beliefs or against the way you were raised, you should never correct it because you went in knowing that it was against your moral fiber.  By that standard, people should never guit stealing, selling drugs, robbibg people.  Everyone who takes part in these illegal and harmful activites know that it is wrong but do it anyone.  But those who choose to guit shouldnt because they made money off of it???

      • ManchesterUKer

She shouldn’t have done it to begin with if she was so ~moral~

Personally, I don’t think she needed to stop modeling for VS for any reason.  Her body is for her husband and as long as no one else is sleeping with her, that will remain the case.  I hope for her sake that she made the right decision.

She said the more she read her Bible, she felt conflicted.  Christians are to be light- not darkness.  Bravo to her!  Too many “professed” Christians do not read their Bibles enough to know what it says.

      • GAE

        I meant to say “convicted”.

lol come on girls lets be honest everyone knows what the brand VICTORIAS SECRET is about if she was holy? why try out in the first place? i think her husband told her something…

all this BODY thing has no meaning when it comes to saving a relationship lets be honest, most men will leave their SACRED wives for a PLAYBOY BUNNY in a heartbeat..because men love women that other men want

I love reading stories like this!  It’s rare that you find people who think about other things than money.

  • Jessevandell

    well this is rare…..

And she just now made this decision AFTER she got married?

  • Noreply

It couldn’t have bothered her to much, it else she wouldn’t have waited 3 years to do it.

I just don’t buy it. I don’t think a married woman modeling lingerie is a sin that would keep you from going to heaven. I think the person you become and the things you do while being a model might keep you from heaven. It was a job. It sounded like she couldn’t stay away from the temptations that came with the job -
“It is a very hard industry to be in without falling into things you don’t want to do,” she said. “I’ve fallen into many things that I wouldn’t have wanted to do, it’s a very tempting industry.” – so she gave up the job. BUT, giving up the job won’t solve the problem because there are temptations everywhere whether you are modeling lingerie or not. Also, I’m sure as a beautiful woman and a new actress, she is bound to be cast making out with another actor — isn’t that sharing yourself with someone other than your husband? Which one is worse?

The point she trying to make was that she doesn’t believe showing your body half naked is a good example of her faith. You don’t believe modeling lingerie is bad for her, but you also don’t share her faith. It’s rare to see anyone sticking to their beliefs these days. You can’t complain about someone choosing to be wholesome.

      • Patas

I like that, “choosing to be wholesome.”

    • Martyrazzano

You are right there are temptations all around us every day. But God spoke to her heart and she is being obedient to God. It seems to me that if the opportunity came for her to be cast into a roll that was going to put into a situation that would compromise her faith and commitment to her husband she would do the same thing.

WGAF!!! and this is of importance because?????????

Lol I commend her but I think God would have been ok lol. . .
