    I think the modeling industry uses Alek Wek to pander to a Black audience with various ranges of beauty. She seems to be a sympathetic choice, for t To the contrary, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

    She has been modeling for years. I used to think she was ugly but in recent years I have come to see how truely beautiful she is. Amazing skin and she is so natural and regal. Her face has slimmed a bit since she was younger which I think makes her look a bit better. She is unconventionally beautiful.

    A don’t think she’s beautiful, I think she is cute. She has a lot of youth to her looks. I don’t know how old she is but you can photoshop for face onto the body of a child and no one will question it. I’m a fan :)

    Alex Wek is beautiful:  glowing skin, a swan-like neck, distinctive eyes, yet I have seen her made-up to her best advantage only once. ONCE! I think, she would look gloriously “otherworldly” if as much attention were paid to making her unique features “pop” as are done with Caucasian models, some of whom look pretty ordinary without their signature “look.”

    Additionally, for all their “hemming” and “hawing” about going “natural”, it seems to me few black people consider this woman beautiful, yet the way she is presented is the very epitome of “natural.”
