Lorenzen Wright’s personal assistant, Wendy Wilson, confiscated recorded evidence from his ex-wife threatening to have him harmed. Wilson accused the ex-wife of making rash threats against Wright and filed a report with Memphis police. She also claims that Wright asked her to keep the tape in case something happened to him in light of a messy divorce.
According to Wendy Wilson, Sherra Wright told Lorenzen “if she caught him with anyone else, she’d have him f***ed up.”
Sherra Wright’s divorce attorney denies the accusations, saying that his ex-wife was going through financial problems. “I just feel like Sherra Wright is being placed in a bad light,” the attorney said to a local TV station. “She does not deserve it at all. She’s been an incredible mother and women. And she’s done her best to shield her children from financial difficulties.”
Once the divorce was settled, Wright was forced to pay $26,000 per month in support for his children and ex-wife. His ex-wife claimed that he stopped making payments in November and proved that his inability to pay child support had nothing to do with his homes being repossessed. The financial problems became a rift in Wright and his ex-wife’s marriage and took a toll on him. Shortly thereafter, he was found dead.
In light of his death, questions linger as to who murdered the former NBA star last week. There are fingers pointing to drug dealers he was associated with, his ex-wife, or a possible stalker who may of wanted to harm him.
The case is still being investigated.
