Black Enterprise Brings Yandy Smith on as a Contributor

Yandy said if there’s a check to be had she’s there, and apparently Black Enterprise has one for her. The “Love and Hip Hop” star and former manager of Jim Jones’ business savvy has landed her a gig as a contributing celebrity blogger for the publication’s website.

Last year, Yandy was featured in an article, “Young Boss Moves: 5 Success Tips from Love & Hip Hop’s Yandy Smith,” and the response was so strong that Black Enterprise decided to bring her on full time. Her blog will feature advice for entrepreneurs and her thoughts on building and maintaining successful careers. Yandy commented on her new role saying:

“I’m a huge fan of Black Enterprise and I respect what they do. I’m very excited and honored to have this opportunity to offer my expertise.”

In addition to this gig, Yandy continues to manage entertainment talent as well as her lifestyle brand, Everything Girls Love. Yandy’s relationship with Jim may have gone sour once she got too personal, but overall, she seems to be a woman about her business. Like she said, at the end of the day, it’s about a check.

What do you think about Yandy’s new job? Would you take business advice from her?

    Work it, Yandy!!!

I would and she has Mona Scott as a mentor to help her through any mistakes she may have had. Those of us in business have all made mistakes; it’s how you learn and how you bounce back from those mistakes are lessons to others as well.

Congrats to her!  Yes I would definitely read and consider her advice.  To those boo-hooing about her appearing on a reality show, look where it got her.  A job at a highly respectable business establishment. I’d say she is very savvy.  She used the exposure as a stepping stone.  She did NOT make a fool of herself on that show.  All she did was exposed the ups, downs and pitfalls of her line of work.  She is still very young and doing more than most people twice her age.  I think she was a great role model to counteract the other women on the show.

  • Tellthetruth

Yes, I would because for her to have gotten an overwhelming response, she did something right. People make mistakes and her mistake was getting too emotionally involved with her client.  Move on, she quit, it’s over.  At the end of the day she still has a degree and has a lot to offer and if a company like Black Enterprise focused on things that are trivial they wouldn’t be the successful business they are.  What I refuse to do is take advice from a woman who has slept with men ALL her life to maintain her lifestyle and has nothing to show for it but materialistic things that don’t last forever.  An education and being business savvy is something NO ONE can take from you and will get you further in life than being a mans kept woman. Congratulations Yandy Smith.

I applaud BE for trying to capture a younger demographic with this move but I cannot take someone who made a fool out of themselves on reality TV seriously.

Someone needs to give Yandy some business advice.

    • RightOn

You hit it right on the head.  SMH!  So many positive young black voices and BE is looking to and “executive” who displayed the worst judgement on reality TV.

  • Burito9245

Yes, I would because at the end of the day Yandy is about business and making that paper.  You can’t deny that!  Congratulations to Yandy, being successful is the best way to get revenge on your haters.

No thanks
