Golden: ‘Girlfriends’ Actress Shows Baby Girl for the First Time

It’s crazy to think Golden Brooks managed to keep her little girl out of the public eye for more than 2 years, but it’s true. The “Girlfriends” actress showed off baby girl Dakota for the first time at a Farmer’s Marker in LA earlier this week, and her little one is absolutely gorgeous.

If you’re curious who the father is, it’s swexy “Single Ladies” star D.B. Woodside. Am I the only one who didn’t know that? The two are no longer together, but in an interview with Denim Magazine last year, he said he and Golden are “friends that love and support our daughter.”

From the look on Dakota’s face, I think being out of the spotlight is just how she likes it. What a serious little cutie!

    I really am wondering where this breakdown occurs in these black unions. They weren’t even together by the time the baby was born. Same with Jill Scott and I think Nia Long’s first son’s dad split shortly after.

    What kind of poor judgement do these women have to procreate with men who won’t hang around until the C-Section heals.

      I’m tired too! They act they bought a set of luggage together. But no in Hollywood you don’t have to I guess or anywhere else for that matter. People just like making babies…

        I think first we have to acknowledge that not everyone believes in marriage in the conventional manner. With over 60% of marriages ending in divorce. I put more focus on parents having healthy relationships and both raising their children in a productive environment.

      Feels like you’d be more at home in the 1800s where they would throw rocks at illegitimate babies, call them ‘bastarrrds’ and then chuck their mums in an asylum.

        Thank you. Instead of saying “I’m tired of illegitimate children” like the children did something to you, why couldn’t the idiot above have said “I’m tired of people having children without being married first”.

        Greensandmac, do you know anyone with illegitimate children, or have any friends or family that are a product of unwed parents? Would you say that ignorant mess you just said to their face? That’s what I thought, probably not.

        Although I’m very happy for you (because obviously, you are a perfect person who lives a perfect life and have never done anything undesirable or deemed unconventional), I do believe the Good Book says to “judge not, lest ye be judged”. I myself got married first then had children with my husband, and even I wouldn’t fix my mouth to utter the stupidity you just wrote.

      Whether or not the parents are married doesn’t matter as long as the child is in a safe loving environment where they can thrive. As long as a child is happy and healthy the marital status of the parents doesn’t matter.
