You’re not doing yourself any favors by skipping meals. You may be saving yourself some calories in the short term, but in the long term, you’re messing with your metabolism. And as we know, metabolism is key to burning calories. So make sure you don’t skip meals and snack on healthy items when you need to. Some experts recommend eating as much as six small meals per day.

    In order to lose weight you have to eat less than you burn off in a day. In order to do that you need to calculate how fast your metabolism is – this is your basic metabolic rate or BMR. In order to burn off a 1LBS you have to burn off 3500 calories less then what you consume.

    When you do this you tap into your fat reserves and lose weight. However, exercising speeds up this process and helps maintain or increase muscle.

    So if Jenny burns 1800 calories a day doing nothing this what will happen:
    1. If she eats 500 calories less than she burns off a day for a week she will lose about a 1lb.
    2. If she eats more than 1800 calories she will gain weight.
    3. If she eats the same amount of calories she burns she will maintain her weight.

    Since I learnt this its been easier to lose the weight at a controlled pace. Also some people have different body types. Ectomorphic, (those skinny bitches). Endomorphic (people who have a lot of fat) and Mesomorphic (the athletes).

    I am both Endomorphic and Mesomorphic meaning its VERY easy for me to gain weight and if I don’t eat regularly I will slow down my already slow metabolism.

        how do you know?! because coffee is an appetite suppresant for me and it always help me with weight loss. everybodys different

          Right.  An appetite suppressor.  If that is the case, with so many of Americans being Starbuck junkies, how come we are getting bigger and bigger as a nation? And with a large number of AA women obese, I dont think promoting coffee as a healthy way to lose weight will help. 

          Calorie control is key, ladies.

            As far as Starbucks if you are ordering the fatty large drinks with a muffin yes you gain weight. I have started back drinking coffee everyday without the muffin or another  sweets and it works for me i am down 10 pounds I also drink protein shakes with lowfat milk.

              You’re drinking protein shakes.  I can only assume that means you are not eating unhealthy, huge proportioned meals.  That’s why you are losing wweight.  Because if you are drinking protein shakes, eating same meals, drinking coffee and snacking you will gain weight.
