Don’t get grown with me!
The last thing you can do to a black mother is act like you are on her level. My grandmother still puts her foot down on my own mother when necessary. As a kid, you can’t wait until you get older so you can have more of a say and make your own decisions in the house. But if you ever get out of line, your mother is right there to bring you back down to earth.
