Per the Long Bow Welsh pub case, Ms. Gatling doesn’t believe in freedom of association, free speech or property rights. Her NYC “Commission of Human Rights” extorted $2500 from the owners of the Long Bow for these seven words in an employment ad: “Being British definitely works in your favour.” Evidently, favoring an applicant for a position in a British pub who is actually familiar with British culture is an egregious violation of human rights. Would the same be true if a college preferred a “Black Studies” professor to be black, or a “Women’s Studies” professor to be a woman?

Ms. Gatling, like a common mob enforcer, says, “At the end of the day violators will pay.” Nice rhyme! Jesse Jackson would be proud. Yup, she’s the “boss” alright. And quite the role model, if your heroes are government extortionists.

This was such a great interview.  I wish you guys could see the whole thing.  During the interview I ask her if she is happy in her role as a followup to her sharing that she was reluctant to go from practicing law to enforcing law.
Her story behind coming to the Commission is a funny one.  She interviewed with Mayor Bloomberg for a position that was no longer available and he offered her the Commissioner position. Funny enough, she also shared that she boastfully told the Mayor that that she didn’t vote for him. Obviously it didn’t stop him from doing the right thing.  Needless to say Commissioner Gatling is an amazing woman!
