Madames Who Acted Like Ladies, But Thought Like Men

April 10th, 2012 - By MN Editor

What does it mean to act like a lady but think like a man? There are a myriad ways to respond to that question. Maybe it involves putting your career and business before a relationship. Or maybe it means downplaying the rules that govern how women are supposed to act when it comes to dating.  These following women definitely defy the stereotype of the typical female. They are both serious about their business and seriously think outside of the box when it comes to their love lives. In other words, they exercise the freedoms and attitude that are typically afforded to men.

"madonna"

Madonna

Madonna is the quintessential alpha female and has definitely upped the standards for women in the entertainment industry.  and the A-type personality of a woman who pushed herself into world domination as a pop star. She gets what she wants and she knows how to do it with panache and finesse. And, oh yeah, her romantic life definitely reflects a woman in charge. She’s been married twice and after her last divorce from Guy Richie, she didn’t slow down her romantic life. The 53-year-old is dating 24-year-old dancer Brahim Zabat. How’s that for thinking like a man!

just to let you now, in French, the plural form of the word “madame’ is ‘mesdames’

So I guess what ya’ll are saying is that if you become rich you’re ‘thinking like a man’…Really? On average women are getting richer and richer than men not only because we’re increasingly getting income sources of our own but also because we know how to build and manage finances better! So its ridiculous to attribute the creation of wealth to men….nkt!

Wait, isn’t Heidi Klum and Seal divorced?

Since you, the thought police at MN will not post my earlier comments, I’ll try again. Kim K is not a lady, she’s a p**n actress and thusly should not be used as a yardstick to measure successful ladies.

  • Dee

Why is Kimora Lee Simmons not on this list? To me she’s a true definition of “Act like a lady though thinking like a man”! Most of the people on the this list are illustrated here for being able to go after a man. That shouldn’t be all about “Thinking like a man”, there’s more to it. This is just my 2 cents though.

ASHLEY M. and Kellz, agree with u

I agree with every post before me, well said everyone.

All ladies except Diana Ross are good role models. Diana Ross slept with Berry Gordy to get ahead, and she treated EVERYONE at Motown like dirt. The woman has mental issues, trying to control everyone and everything. Never thought of her as a happy person, behind that fake smile and the “high and mighty” attitude is a deeply insecure woman.

Am I the only one who resents this whole “think like a man” concept?  Since when were women one size fits all, without the ability to think/act aggressively?  You may think a smart women is one who thinks like a man, but I think a smart women doesn’t need to.

I can’t help thinking that this rush to “think like a man” means endorsing gender stereotypes.  Women have been putting careers first and refusing to obey some invisible rule book of etiquette when it comes to sex since the 60s.

I mean, come on!  We are nuanced (!) and capable of doing anything we want, without having to take a page out of the so-called “male playbook”.  Whatever happened to just being your own smart self?

    • Cscott37

Steve Harvey is paying his bills with this concept of women thinking like men. A woman can’t think like a man. That is what ,makes us women and them men. We have our role and they have their role. I cannot believe women and men are buying this nonsense.

Thank you! This whole movement is such BULLSHIT. Like all positive capitalistic attributes that lead to ‘success’ are male and therefore (by default) all the wack ones are ours?! It just tell you what a sheep mentality women still have as a whole man!

  • Kellz

The question is: Is that the mentality most women should have? I can see where in some instances that will work (financially) but emotionally is that healthy?

    • Guest

I was just thinking the same thing…finanicially they have it together but the majority of these woman usually arent happy in their personal life

It can be.  All women do not want lifetime partners.  As the list illustrates some of these women are simply in it for pleasure.
