‘Motor City Wives’ Digs Up Detroit Drama

See what Shaunie and Andy Cohen started? A new reality show is attempting to come to TV and it is digging up some women we haven’t heard from or seen in a long time.

Motor City Wives” is the latest “wives” saga in development, and it will feature “prominent” women in Detroit who, in my opinion, had humble beginnings. The stars are Ayanna Kilpatrick-Ferguson, sister of former Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick; author Valencia R. Williams; Sara Stokes, from MTV’s Making the Band; and Deelishis, the winner of Flavor of Love 2. Now you see why prominent is in quotations.

It’s not clear what exactly these women will have to talk—or most likely throw drinks and fight about—but leaked details say Deelishis will get confronted by Ayanna’s husband about possibly sleeping around with her brother Kwame.

The show hasn’t been picked up by a network yet, so there’s still hope that this series may never see the light of day. But even so, I find it disturbing that women are literally trying to get on TV now by shooting their own demos, and undoubtedly creating their own drama.

Would you check out this show if it makes it on air?

If I’m not mistaken…Deelishis’ husband was just indicted for drug trafficking.

Please don’t. Please. Please don’t put this on TV. Just don’t. PLEASE.

  • Pivyque

    No.

  • JustSaying

Honestly, no. Being from Detroit, I could honestly care less. The same goes for those other “wife” shows. It’s actually quite pointless if you ask me.

    • KAY

I am from Mid-Michigan and I love Detroit. So let me just say I agree with you about it being pointless, but I do care if it gives yet another bad thing to say about the city. Can’t we show something more positive?

I just want to know what’s the beef? Why is there HOPE that this show won’t see the light of day? Why so hard on Detroit? Exactly what did Detroit do to the rest of the world?????? Who the hell knew NeNe, Sheree, Caroline, Jill, Ramona, Vicki or Tamara? Funny, Your story on Motor CIty Wives has more views than your story on First Lady Michelle Obama @ BET Honors! #getwithit

I’d probably watch it just as I watch the other “wives” shows. The funny thing is that I really like watching “reality” shows because my REAL life just isn’t this dramatic

FYI more of these reality shows feature white women acting all dramatic so don’t make it a black women thing…

It would be nice to see more positive reallity shows. I know I watch them like Tia and Tamara, Welcome to Sweetie Pies, Tiny & Toya, The Family Crews to name a few. Yes drama happens because life happens but to keep creating drama-filled shows to be a “star” is screaming “I’m Thirsty.” Let’s ask for more shows that show more of a balanced life and not a created, hype-filled, drink throwing life that none of those women featured can afford to live anyway.

Technically, none of the wives (except for Shaunie) were prominent before doing their respective shows.  I watch the others so I will definitely watch this one.  At least they’re from my hometown.

black women have became joke of Amerikkka with these shows.

    • Pivyque

Well, women in general have I think. These shows even make business women look bad. Don’t even get me started on Jersey Shore…makes women look like sluts. Those guys bring home a couple girls a week.
