I Don’t Wanna Push: Celebrities Who Spared Their Bodies and Used Surrogates

January 17th, 2012 - By MN Editor

"angela bassett and family"

There was so many rumors surrounding Beyonce’s pregnancy - most notably the one about her faking her pregnancy and using a surrogate. Well, by now, everyone is convinced she gave birth to her own child. Need proof? Just look at her plump face weeks before she gave birth. You can’t fake that honey.

Although it seems that surrogacy is getting more popular amongst Hollywood’s elite, for the most part, many of those who use surrogates due so out of exhausted options. Whether it be age or the simple inability to conceive, people turn to the expensive option of surrogacy as a last resort. That’s not the case for everyone but that is the case for most. For the rest, we can bet that those obsessed with vanity don’t want to wreak havoc on their bodies even if it does mean sacrificing the most precious bonding moments between mother and child.

Most on this list of celebrities who’ve used surrogates belong to the former group but there are a couple whose vanities may be at play…

I’m waiting for a proof any of these (or other) women have used a surrogate for vanity…
About the raging debate on Beyoncé’s pregnancy, some people need to THINK: what is the purpose, the gain of lying you are pregnant while it’s very well accepted that people use surrogate or adopt? What is the gain for BEYONCE (OR OTHERS) to take the risk to GET CAUGHT AND LOSE THE FAVOR OF THE PUBLIC? Just for vanity? Just for a stunt? Common!!
If anyone can EXPLAIN WHY a public person will do that, I may believe you. Meanwhile, please, stop the BS.

  • Annelli

I better not see Beyonce on this list (I haven’t looked at the list yet). The woman was pregnant people!!! Why would she lie about something like that??? Come on now THINK!!!

  • Shanice

News outlets should start waiting for official statements. Not only did they falsely claim Beyonce had a c-section they said her daughter’s name was Ivy Blue. I believe she was pregnant and that she gave birth naturally until SOLID CONCRETE proof otherwise than gossip or people’s assumptions.

  • Cutitout

This article is offensive and just plain old ignorant. “Spare their bodies” really? Most of the women are older and the fact is, after 35 its not easy to get pregnant and for many impssible. Yall have no idea if these women have health issues that stop them from being able to carry a healthy child. To infer surragacy as some vanity option is really low and ignorant.

And folks really need to stop letting their light-skin girl envy  make yall selves look like fools. Beyonce had her baby, just like she has a man who actually put a ring on it, and seems to adore her, and a great career, money in the bank, and happiness. Stop trolling the internet spamming hate on any post about this woman who has done nothing to any of you. That time would be better spent finding your own happiness…

This list is stupid like all the others. Some these women clearly shouldn’t be one the list seeing they used a surrogate out of necessity.

Ummm, excuse me, but can’t you get fat from overeating? Well, that’s how I got my plump face…lol  If she did use a surrogate, I wish she had been honest with her fans.  She’s not giving us a lot of credit.  After hearing about her miscarriage, I completely understand why she would want to use one.

  • Cat88L3

Yeah, major news sources reported that Beyonce first had a c-section. Then it was said she had a natural birth.  I’m not saying there’s a surrogate conspiracy, but the story changing of how she gave birth makes me go “Hmmmm…”

  • jodie

I don’t know what everyone your talking about. I don’t believe Beyonce was pregnant, the evidence is in all the photos of her with those pathetic prosthetic baby bumps. They went from large to small, from bumpy to lumpy, folding over and then right before she supposedly gave birth none existent. Even E! Had a segment comparing her belly size showing it to be clearly smaller than a few weeks before which lead them to believe she had actually already had the baby. What confirmed it for me that her entire pregnancy was a scam is the circus they had going on at the hospital with their security. Its so obvious that they were trying to hide something and that something was the fact that Beyonce was not the one giving birth.

    • Cwendy111

I too do not believe anymore that Beyonce was ever pregnant. But the harsh words most of you have for surrogacy is why these women go through all the trouble to hide their choice. Why are you all so judgemental? It is a personal choice and option available to those who can afford it, no different than plastic surgery. I do find it pathetic that these celebrities go through such great pains to deceive the public about something that is a perfectly legal and viable option. But just like plastic surgery, surrogacy is much maligned by the public. Motherhood is not defined by carrying a child. It is defined by loving and caring for a child. Your statements imply that adoptive mothers or stepmothers are not real mothers because they didnt “carry “the child? Ridiculous. Whatever reason these women chose surrogacy, it is within their right. Women have rights, remember????

Another stupid article from Madame Nore!! The title is misleading as the only two that may have used a surrogate, Boch’s wife and Camille Grammer, was not even confirmed.  There is no way of telling someone used a surrogate for vanity reasons unless they told you themselves or you have access to their medical records!!  this article is pointless.  I think this article was just written to discuss the Beyonce issue yet again!!

    • Sweetie

I meant to say that the only two that may have used a surrogate for vanity reasons, Boch’s wife…….

    • Ms_Sunshine9898

Actually Camille is a confirm. she said so on the first episode of RHOBH. she said it plain as day that she had 2 surrogates and 4 nannies, two for each child so when the nannies are off another one can step in. she also used IBS as the real reason why she couldn’t conceive. . . right. . .  having loose and bad stools keeps you from having kids, that and she said she wanted to maintain her figure. . .

The title of this article is just  . . . I can even find the words to describe my disdain for it. You have lumped women, who have reproductive issues, such as Angela Bassett, into a ’maybe it’s vanity but I really don’t know this is ridiculous’ post. Shame on taking the pain of women (I know some who are truly heartbroken at not being able to bear children) and making such a lighthearted stab at them.

The premise of this article is cruel and unnecessary. The final comment that ”
Most on this list of celebrities who’ve used surrogates belong to the former group but there are a couple whose vanities may be at play…”. May be at play? Are you serious? Why in the world would you drag these women and their choices out to support your negative, actually hateful premise if you don’t even know for certain what factors went into their decision making process?

As for whether or not they would’ve had natural childbirth but chose not to perhaps you should have a conversation with reproductive professionals who would tell you of the continuing rise in reproductive issues among American women and African-American women in particular.  And no this is not limited to women in their 60′s. I know women in their 20′s and 30′s who have reproductive issues.

Today’s post is disgusting, despicable and unnecessarily cruel. Hope your sense of smugness when you posted it was worth it.

what’s disgusting is these women who use surrogates because of vanity…In no way was this post intended to bash those women who have medical issues.. that led them to use surrogates…

      • Deedee_404

Especially when you hear celebs like Juliana Ransic and all she is going through to have her own child. Most of the people pictured here seemed to make their decision based on their age.  I question the true desire of a woman to be a mother who would use a surrogate to preserve her figure. Can you trust that person to be selfless when a situation with the child presents such a need if they wouldn’t sacrifice a few pounds to carry their own child?

  • Amy

I don’t think any woman who CHOOSES a surrogate to protect their figure should be ALLOWED to EVER have children. A REAL woman wants to feel THEIR child growing inside of them. They want to later share with their children their pregnancy stories and cravings. Any man that would marry a woman so vain is just as vain and an idiot. That’s like the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard, something like that definitely has gold digger written all over it. Just remember numbskull, when the divorce proceedings begin and the child support payments have to be met…YOU FOOLISHLY AGREED TO BE USED!!!

Unless the women has tried to get pregnant and can’t go full term, then I can understand using a surrogate mother, but if you can give birth on your own, that would be the route to go instead of trying to keep your “body” in tact. What type of foolishness is that? And I would stay clear of a man who would advocate such a thing because, that would mean he is beyond superficial and isn’t in the relationship for true love.

I didn’t risk having carpel tunnel syndrome by flicking through all of these pages.  The main reason I didn’t because all I had to do was read the introduction of this article to know that it’s dumb.  Celebrity or not, no woman who wants to be a mother is going to look for a surrogate mother, another woman, as her first option for childbirth.  Vanity is not the reason these women have surrogates; impatience is the reason.  Unless more than one doctor through extensive medical findings that a woman can’t get pregnant or she is sixty and went through menopause, there is no reason for her to have a surrogate mother.  There are many stories of women who were told by the doctor that they could not get pregnant regardless of age, but because of prayer and faith in God, they shocked the doctors by giving birth to a child.  Forties is not too old to get pregnant, especially when their are women in their mid-50′s who are first time moms.  And who is MN?  I notice as the editor you were slick about not writing your full name.  Either you are a man or a silly naive twenty something year old woman.  SMH at YOU!

I agree with you to a certain extent, but there are countless amount of women who are of child bearing age that cannot conceive for various medical issues. After you have had repeated miscarriages, stillborns or an inability to conceive for many years, a surrogate may be the best thing available.

  • R.A Mathis

Just because she gained a few pounds, doen’t mean she was pregnant. People forget that Beyonce is is not a small girl. Those few pounds she put on may have been to throw people off. I’d have to see the scar.

    • Jonita

She has No reason to Fake a pregnancy,Why would she do that? She didn’t have a C-section ,she gave birth naturally, she has talked about wanting a baby for years…If she used a surrogate so what?

      • NSimonefan

Beyonce DID have a C-section.  If she didn’t, then it’s a lie the news told.  I’m not talking about the gossip news shows, I’m talking about World News, CNN and the like.

Let’s get real ok? Beyonce’s stomach ain’t never been that big!!! Now unless she has acites from liver or kidney disease, I can’t see any other reason why her stomach was sticking out that far other than she was PREGNANT.
