"Naomi Campbell for Roberto Cavalli Spring 2012"

Naomi Campbell for Roberto Cavalli

Naomi Campbell has earned the right to be called a “supermodel” as she has been modeling since age fifteen. Campbell is of Caribbean and Chinese decent and has only gotten more beautiful with age. It’s clear to see why Roberto Cavalli wanted to include her in his newest campaign. Cavalli notes that each woman he chose embodies the standards of modern appeal.

In standard Roberto Cavalli fashion, the pieces shown are glamorous and over-the-top. Tropical colors, leopard print, and sequins tell the story. Dresses, gowns, and cheeky separates comprise the collection. Acclaimed photographer Steven Meisel captured each model looking fierce, but Naomi looks especially stunning! Why can’t we all look like that in our underwear?!

Where ever there’s black women, there are haters (see above)

  • Kayla

Actually Kelly is an indian women from the UK and she posts on may sites mostly black. I think her husband left her for a black women her heart is so full of hate for black women. It is actually very sad that she spends 24/7 obsessed with everything black women do and it is never based on facts. Well done to all the sisters who have got these campaigns it is always good to support brands that highlight black women.
Kelly you have been told on many black blogs that you provide nothing but comedy but try and get some pride and join Indian blogs where you can get support for whatever issues and problems you have.

    • Smacks_hoes

      Lol is this a joke

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_3EHQVSA365QAAO7CZUYW33EF5M Jonna

OMG Herve!!!! LOVE!!! They had to get a black model….. Could you imagine pasty white in that masterpiece..

  • Fuzzy Frisson

I think Fatima Siad’s shoot for Herve Leger was the best one out of the collection.  Besides the moody photography, it looks very imperial overall and reflective of the intended Roman theme.  I like the dress as well; looks skeletally reminiscent.

    • SayCheese

      I agree.

  • Joshmowens

News flash: Have you ever been to Atlanta before, Kelly? There are black women everywhere, and every other one of them has a designer handbag or designer shoes. Not fake sh!t, the real deal. The money for these labels is not in the clothing- it is in the accessories!! Black women buy a lot of accessories, just to let you know. I’m sure that having Joan in the Chanel campaign might just boost the sales of handbags. I also think the idea of white women not buying products that are modeled by a black model to be absurd. If that theory were true, Joan wouldn’t be the face of brands like Cavalli, Givenchy, Chanel & Gucci. This is 2012, and I think the younger generation doesn’t have nearly as much prejudice as the older generation does. Your ignorance on this issue is laughable.

  • Kelly

Clearly I have the power to hurt and offend BW, if not, why get rid of all my comments?

    • Smacks_hoes

LOL!!!!!! They showed you. Go back to bossip with your crazy rants

    • Josh

Clearly you have the power to sit behind a computer & voice your prejudicial thoughts. You must be so big & bad, huh? I bet you wouldn’t have the balls to say something like that in public.

    • MNEditor

I don’t think you hurt anybody’s heart if that’s what you were looking to do. Your comments were deleted because you weren’t doing anything but veering way off topic and being nasty. And “newsflash,” I didn’t delete all your comments, just the discriminatory and useless ones. What does having mixed-race babies, Elie Saab (which is not that awesome of a high-fashion label anyway) and black women’s behinds have to do with these beautiful women getting to be the faces of the campaigns listed above? Everybody has the power to offend another person (trust me, it’s not hard), but why waste your Saturday afternoon working SO hard to do so? Why waste your years doing so in fact?

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_Z2SSBPKZ4H3ASGRXGS7NCNP5KM Luvy Smith

I disagree Elie Saab is an awesome high fashion label, I think it’s unfair to try and discredit Elie Saab because of someones biased opinion.

        • Smacks_hoes

You do realized your opinion of ellie Saab is biased as well right. That’s kinda why it’s called an opinion. Everyone has there own k? Good

  • MNEditor

If you all see Caribbean in the House talking crazy on a lot of stories again, please send an e-mail to the editors account about that…I’m going to give Kelly one strike for now, but dear, disparaging rants against the people this site is meant to appreciate? No. It would be best if you kept those to the absolute minimum. Like, make a comment, respond to someone who questions your comment, and then be on your merry way. No discriminatory, stereotypical rants talking about things a story like the one above has NOTHING to do with (a random opinion that blacks don’t offer anything as far as wealth to the Western world, having mixed raced babies, black hair and booty crap, blah blah blah). That’s not necessary and it’s just being crude to get attention.

    • Smacks_hoes

Thank you very much. Those comments were getting out of hand

  • Smacks_hoes

Everyone on this post has established that Kelly is a troll!! Lol

  • Sadeo

@Kelly: you are on the wrong forum! Your thoughts and comments are very negative and not that of an educated and enlightened female. Who cares if blacks cannot afford to buy couture fashion? You just worry about what you can afford.

  • NAOMI

WHY DO YOU ALL REPLY TO KELLY AND CARIBBEAN IN THE HOUSE?  IGNORE, IGNORE, IGNORE

    • Emily

You know what you’re are absolutely right! Kelly is insanely jealous that’s why she’s here on a urban website preaching her racist views.

    • Smacks_hoes

Lol it’s kind of fun. Im sure no sain person takes Kelly seriously. she obviously has some personal issues but in most cases she is probably a troll to start some kind of controversy. I mean look how many comments she’s posted just to make black women angry but it’s done the exact opposite. Poor thing

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_Z2SSBPKZ4H3ASGRXGS7NCNP5KM Luvy Smith

I’m sorry but look at your user name it is highly offensive and I think that it’s alarming that the Editor would dismiss Kelly’s comments but allow users with a screen name such as yours to post comments. I don’t agree with trolls but I also don’t agree with censorship and in doing so this site is losing credibility and showing that it caters to one demographic. I understand with the name ‘Madam Noire’ that would make sense but it is also feeds into the stereotypes of reverse racism as well as in your case with that username inbred racism.

        • Smacks_hoes

Lol calm down…it’s Just a user name. I was on another site and a girl shared the same opinion as you about my user name. I’ll tell her exactly what I told you. When I sign up on disqus ever user name I typed in, came up red which meant the username was taken ig or however that works so when I typed in this one it allowed me to use it. Definately not my first choice in usernames. Infact it was like my 7th choice but I really don’t think it’s that offensive. Sorry if offended you but you can’t be seriously compare my screen name to kelly’s rant. Nvr have I ever come on this website or any other gossip website to cause trouble or be a troll. Mostly all my comments are based on the subject matter and I try my best to no offend anyone. Its just a screen name and the way I see it is I didn’t have that much of a choice. So take it or leave it.

  • Thena100

Kelly. WOW! You obviously don’t know anything about black women and what they will spend on fashion and beauty. No black women can afford Elie Saab Couture??? What hole do you live in? WOW!

    • Smacks_hoes

Lol no real person wears run way clothing!! It’s pointless. Most couture outfits are hideous and practically unwearable for the everyday woman

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_Z2SSBPKZ4H3ASGRXGS7NCNP5KM Luvy Smith

Wow couture outfits are ‘hideous’ yet look at your username? Lol Haute Couture has been around for centuries and Elie Saab is a highly respectable and lauded emerging Fashion designer you clearly have no clue as to what your commenting on and on a fashion topic no less.

        • Smacks_hoes

Why are you trying to cause an issue where there is none? I’m no fasionista and I Dnt claim to be and unless you work in the fashion industry neither are you. I think of couture as an art form. It’s interesting to look at but not very practical for everyday use. Have you ever seen an ordinary ever day working woman in a couture gown? Probably not. Matter fact do you own one? Hmmm. Further more when did I ever mention Ellie Saab in any of my comments. Lastly I’m going to need you to build a bridge and get over my screen name. It’s not yours so thereof it’s not your business what my screen name is. I’ve already stated that it wasn’t a first choice of mine so leave it alone. K? Thanks

    • SayCheese

No Black Woman can afford Elie Saab. Maybe not you but know plenty that do wear couture designers. I bet your one those people that wear knock off ugg boots in the summer.

  • Kelly

Why should fashion brands hire black models? All the designers are white or Asian.   The magazine are all white ( Asian versions in their own country ) but most importantly……..IT IS WHITES, ARABS AND ASIANS who spend the money on the fashion. How many blacks can afford to wear Elie Saab Couture? None, so why should a black girl model it? Whites can afford it. So they have to have white women.   In fact, Chinese and Indians are spending more on Fashion than any other race…..so Chinese and Indian women should feature. Thank god, Armani, Vera Wang, Valentino, etc  has used tons Chinese models.

    • Emily

Seems like somebody is jealous! Why do you care so much if Black women are hired as models? What do you get out this? Absolutely nothing! They don’t hire models based on who spends the most, they hire models based on their unique physical features.

      • Kelly

I would be jealous of Gisele. Tall, thin, toned, blonde, Brazilian, richest model of all time – worth $ 100 million; married to hot tom brady, with a baby at 30. You are jealous.

        • Smacks_hoes

Lol your a little insane. What race are you? I’m guessing not white?

    • DrDarkAngel

Fashion is about beauty. Beautiful people come in all shades… period.

    • Emily

How do you know what Black women can or cannot afford? You don’t know every Black woman. I know white women who are on welfare…and will proudly display their EBT card! Lol

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_Z2SSBPKZ4H3ASGRXGS7NCNP5KM Luvy Smith

Elie Saab couture is quite expensive but it is not catered to the everyday women in the same way that Balmain, Hermes, Marchesa, Valentino and Gucci is not catered to the everyday women, these are luxury brands that are designed to fancy to the ultra rich or ‘aristocratic’ party of society. I disagree with not using black models in ads although I do get the gist of what you are saying from a marketing standpoint. I have yet to see any Asians in the Armani, Valentino ads though I did see Asians in Vera Wang (finally) there are many Asian designers who do not feature Asians in their ads (Philip Lim, Alexander Wang etc) but that doesn’t mean that they do not like Asians. Designers have a concept in mind and are going to choose a model that they feel suits their ideals.

    • SayCheese

I forgot I guess all White’s are rich. Redneck Jimbob must be a billionaire in America. While Joe the Chav in UK is of the royel bloodline while low cast dark skin Maya from India is rolling in rupees and Lin the country orpanh from China is walking around Shanghai with Gucci on that happen to be real and not a knock off from a shady factor in China. GTFOFH Kelly! China, India and the Middle East are pretty much all still are third world countries. I don’t know what your talking about. A Black women in the US is more than likely to seen with a designer purse then then the people I mention above. 1. Because she live in the US. 2. She more then likely has money. 3. She doesn’t live in the backwoods where jimbob lives.

Are you that moronic? ^.^ that iota sized brain of yours must really drive people away xD I would say “Think before you speak”, but that would imply that you are actually capable of using what is left of your dilapidating brain xDD A notion your comment complete contradicts :)

  • Emily

Newsflash, Asians don’t care about White people…believe me I know.

  • Emily

So why do White women tan and get fake boobs, fake lips, fake booties, and etc? They do this to look like Black women and Hispanic women, you’re literally dying to look like us! White women have the most body issues of any race of women. Anorexia ring a bell?

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_Z2SSBPKZ4H3ASGRXGS7NCNP5KM Luvy Smith

your comment is offensive to those who are dealing with the mental illness of anorexia yet it received 5 likes and the editor has not deleted it? This is puzzling to say the least, there are too many anti-white, anti-Asian comments on this site for me to take it seriously. I don’t know how I received this Top 100 commenter as if it is some type of coveted title.

  • Smacks_hoes

Lol does everything someone types offend you? Your offended by my screen name and her comment which is pretty much true I may add. If you Dnt take the site seriously gtf. Jeez always have to complain.
