Naomi Campbell has earned the right to be called a “supermodel” as she has been modeling since age fifteen. Campbell is of Caribbean and Chinese decent and has only gotten more beautiful with age. It’s clear to see why Roberto Cavalli wanted to include her in his newest campaign. Cavalli notes that each woman he chose embodies the standards of modern appeal.

In standard Roberto Cavalli fashion, the pieces shown are glamorous and over-the-top. Tropical colors, leopard print, and sequins tell the story. Dresses, gowns, and cheeky separates comprise the collection. Acclaimed photographer Steven Meisel captured each model looking fierce, but Naomi looks especially stunning! Why can’t we all look like that in our underwear?!

    Actually Kelly is an indian women from the UK and she posts on may sites mostly black. I think her husband left her for a black women her heart is so full of hate for black women. It is actually very sad that she spends 24/7 obsessed with everything black women do and it is never based on facts. Well done to all the sisters who have got these campaigns it is always good to support brands that highlight black women.
    Kelly you have been told on many black blogs that you provide nothing but comedy but try and get some pride and join Indian blogs where you can get support for whatever issues and problems you have.

    I think Fatima Siad’s shoot for Herve Leger was the best one out of the collection.  Besides the moody photography, it looks very imperial overall and reflective of the intended Roman theme.  I like the dress as well; looks skeletally reminiscent.

    News flash: Have you ever been to Atlanta before, Kelly? There are black women everywhere, and every other one of them has a designer handbag or designer shoes. Not fake sh!t, the real deal. The money for these labels is not in the clothing- it is in the accessories!! Black women buy a lot of accessories, just to let you know. I’m sure that having Joan in the Chanel campaign might just boost the sales of handbags. I also think the idea of white women not buying products that are modeled by a black model to be absurd. If that theory were true, Joan wouldn’t be the face of brands like Cavalli, Givenchy, Chanel & Gucci. This is 2012, and I think the younger generation doesn’t have nearly as much prejudice as the older generation does. Your ignorance on this issue is laughable.

What does having mixed-race babies, Elie Saab (which is not that awesome of a high-fashion label anyway) and black women’s behinds have to do with these beautiful women getting to be the faces of the campaigns listed above?     If you all see Caribbean in the House talking crazy on a lot of stories again, please send an e-mail to the editors account about that…I’m going to give Kelly one strike for now, but dear, disparaging rants against the people this site is meant to appreciate? No. It would be best if you kept those to the absolute minimum. Like, make a comment, respond to someone who questions your comment, and then be on your merry way. No discriminatory, stereotypical rants talking about things a story like the one above has NOTHING to do with (a random opinion that blacks don’t offer anything as far as wealth to the Western world, having mixed raced babies, black hair and booty crap, blah blah blah). When I sign up on disqus ever user name I typed in, came up red which meant the username was taken ig or however that works so when I typed in this one it allowed me to use it. Definately not my first choice in usernames. Infact it was like my 7th choice but I really don’t think it’s that offensive.     Why should fashion brands hire black models? All the designers are white or Asian.   The magazine are all white ( Asian versions in their own country ) but most importantly……..IT IS WHITES, ARABS AND ASIANS who spend the money on the fashion. How many blacks can afford to wear Elie Saab Couture? None, so why should a black girl model it? Whites can afford it. So they have to have white women.   In fact, Chinese and Indians are spending more on Fashion than any other race…..so Chinese and Indian women should feature. Thank god, Armani, Vera Wang, Valentino, etc  has used tons Chinese models.

      Elie Saab couture is quite expensive but it is not catered to the everyday women in the same way that Balmain, Hermes, Marchesa, Valentino and Gucci is not catered to the everyday women, these are luxury brands that are designed to fancy to the ultra rich or ‘aristocratic’ party of society. I disagree with not using black models in ads although I do get the gist of what you are saying from a marketing standpoint. I have yet to see any Asians in the Armani, Valentino ads though I did see Asians in Vera Wang (finally) there are many Asian designers who do not feature Asians in their ads (Philip Lim, Alexander Wang etc) but that doesn’t mean that they do not like Asians. Designers have a concept in mind and are going to choose a model that they feel suits their ideals.

While Joe the Chav in UK is of the royel bloodline while low cast dark skin Maya from India is rolling in rupees and Lin the country orpanh from China is walking around Shanghai with Gucci on that happen to be real and not a knock off from a shady factor in China.
