Our 5 Favorite Episodes of Awkward Black Girl

After another lengthy wait–I don’t even remember when episode 11 premiered, but I’m pretty sure it was a month ago–”The Mis-Adventures of Awkward Black Girl” is back! Sadly, it’s back to debut the season finale of the popular web series, which has had us rolling on the floor laughing, singing the random song, “Booty Shawts,” and coming to terms with our own awkwardness. Director/writer/editor Issa Rae’s web series has garnered a huge following, and we hope to see it back very, VERY soon (just not on television). So to celebrate the season finale premiering tonight, we wanted to take a look back at some of our favorite ABG episodes in all their awkward glory. Be sure to tell us your faves! “Drop dat beat Cece!”

    When the audience first met baby voice (Darius) to damn funny. Also my most favorite scene when Darius was the DJ saying his speech and Fred was the only one who understood him.

      Funny how EVERYONE understands Darius BUT J. I love it when he mumbles and everyone nods their understanding while J is straining #awkwardly. This show had me dyin’! I agree with MISSK, this show is pure crack.

    5. “The Icebreaker” – Black and Indian “Recipe for friendship: Curry Fried Chicken!!!” bwahahahaha
    4. “The Date” – “Good byyeeee byyyhyyyeee byyhhyyyeee – Y’ALL!” ….Dead.
    3. “The Dance” – TEAM WHITE JAY ALL DAY! lol
    2. “The Exes” – (J and A were the hottest mess on that dance floor! – and Darius KILLS ME looking like Adebisi from Oz with that hat)
    1. “The Stop Sign” – (That scene in the car was toooo tooo awkward! – and “Booty Shawts” MADE this series!)
