Pole Action: Should Will and Jada Rethink Willow’s Career?

To add just a bit more fuel to the Will-Jada divorce fire, a photo of 11-year-old Willow Smith posing with a stripper role has surfaced—and almost immediately disappeared.

Yesterday, young Willow posted a photo of herself playing around on a dancer pole with a caption reading “Vegas Chick…” Not long after, the photo went bye bye, but not before sites like Necole Bitchie and 500+ viewers got a chance to save the file to their desktops.

So many questions could be asked here, namely what are you doing in a Vegas strip club, where are your parents, and who took this photo—etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. But most important is should Will and Jada pump the breaks on this young diva’s career? Already many people questioned how much ownership Willow and her brother Jaden have over their personal style after they were thrown front and center of the pre-teen entertainment scene last year, and author Terry McMillan even accused the couple of pimping out their kids for fame.With rumors that differing opinions on how Willow and Jaden should pursue their entertainment careers floating around as the reason Will and Jada are getting a divorce, this photo certainly doesn’t help.

There’s nothing cute about an 11-year-old play-posing with a pole and if one of the parents thinks there is, I can see why the young ones’ careers could indeed be irreconcilable differences. I’m sure neither Will nor Jada told Willow to upload that pic in the first place but the fact that she was in Vegas and around a pole is all on them.

    I love how everyone chimes in about someone else’s kid! If we looked to close to any parents life America would be appalled that your child stayed out too late, drunk liquor (without your knowledge) at a friends house, smoked weed, sent naked pics to boys, cursed entirely too much (when your not around), snuck out of the house (while you were sleeping), had boys over (while you were working 2 jobs), 11 years old and 60lbs over weight, beat up the slow kid at school, became anorexic, stole your car, stole from a store, had a house party, had sex at 12, got pregnant at 15, gave a BJ on the school bus, hit you in the face, cursed grandma out, skipped school, smoked ciragettes etc. I hope i made my point! Kids do things withput parents approval and all of them can be seen as  child negelct (You should know what your child is doing!) but the fact is you cant be everywhere! This could be a simple she went on vacation with a trusted family member and now they know this member is not trusted! Like get off your high horse people!! We have little kids killing people and committing suicide! No one is perfect! and every parent has flaws! You would all be ashamed if the light was in your face!

    she needs to b a little girl. leave the pole 4 the grown women, preferably over age 18. there is nothing cute about an 11 year posing herself on a stripper pole. It shows that somewhere Will and Jada are not handling their business as parents and that they are not handling her career well either.

    There is nothing cute about a 11-year-old dancing or simulating a dance step around a stipper pole. How in the world did she get into the club at her age? I get a feeling that Jada is more the “I want to be my child’s friend” type of mother. Mother and daughter’s can become “friends” when the daughter reaches 30 until then remain the child’s mother! IMO

    Not really sure what to make of this… It’s not cute. This is something a child should not be doing but when you have this type of “lifestyle” ( money, spoiled, money, spoiled) I guess  anything goes??… What ever happened to having some kind control over your child and just letting them be a child? Also what happened to just saying “NO”? You are the adults here.  Lots of questions but probably no real answers. Bottom line, thought Will and Jada were better parents and a solid couple when it came to their children. Feel very sad that things have gone in this direction. Not that they would care what I think about any of this… Just my thoughts…

    We don’t know what situation the pic was taken in or if she was even dancing there? It looks like she’s posing. Really, it’s not like the internet hasn’t jumped to very premature conclusions before. Let me hear Will and Jada first.

    sad…this is what happens when parents are too liberal with their children and anything goes…I once saw an interview with one of the smith kids and the child let it slip that their parents are lenient…this does not surprise me..when you don’t give kids structure, they take to doing whatever they “think” is okay

    Many people try to blame this on a Hollywood lifestyle. I live in California; this has to do with Will and Jada Pinkett Smith and their child rearing skills! The daughter’s behavior demonstrates exactly how advanced they have raised their children. This behavior does not surprise me; unfortunately, it was rumored that Will & Jada are swingers!

    Not that they’re this deep but, maybe they’re trying to show people how disgusting it is to see ANY female on a pole as they’re someone’s daughter too. {Shrug} O!O LOL!! I wouldn’t use my daughter for that type of message tho. BWAH!

    I guess none of you have ever gone to a pole aerobics class…well, everyone has their own perspective. I don’t see a problem with it…

      I can see a pole aerobics class for an adult, BUT SHE IS 11 years old.  There is a big problem with this.

      When I was a kid we used to do chin ups on the train (w/the pole/railing to hold on to) but there was nothin sexually swingy about it. No hand on the hip and no seduction. LOL I don’t know, maybe its a misunderstanding but it doesn’t look like it.

    im not mad at it….i think sometimes we over think shit…this might be one…. doesn’t mean she will be a stripper…and lets not act like celeb kids are “normal” by all means they are not…especially once in the spotlight…its an empty club and im pretty sure she had an adult…i dont see any liqueur or drugs..or condoms or naked people…

      So because it’s not the extreme situation (liquor/drugs/condoms/naked people) even though it’s a stripper pole and she’s 11, it’s all good?? At 11, why is she in a club (empty or not) w/ access to a stripper pole at all???? We all know there’s no misinterpretation of the pole in this context: it’s used by strippers who sell the illusion of sex to make money by dancing provocatively and in a sexually suggestive manner. Why is an 11 year old CHILD even in the vicinity of a pole, fully clothed or not, liquor or not, drugs/condoms or not??? I repeat for the umpteenth time: she’s 11.

    I don’t know what is going on with the Smiths but that was not appropriate at all……But it appears that is the type of behavior that is acceptable in Hollywood with children………They behave inappropriately beyond their years.
