The Knowles family is on fire! While Beyoncé and Jay-Z were signing baby Blue Ivy’s birth certificate, Solange was signing with Next Model Management.

I feel right at home working with people who have worked beside such creative forces in the world.”

I like Solanges style, but people throw around the word “Trendsetter” to often.  You can walk down the streets of Washington DC, Chicago, and New York and see women that are equally if not more unique in their fashion choices.

what i tried to say she needs to give her sister crash courses on how to publicly speak without saying the word ‘and” constantly and sound country as heck.. do your “solo” thing solange.. what you guys fail to recognize this chick is filthy rich she doesn’t have to work another day in her life but she will also appeal to young girls who wants to know how to model clothes, hair, makeup, and be unique and a trend setter  do your :solo: thing solange i ain’t mad at you honey…

  • missthang84

very articulate love her style and she can say a paragraph without saying the word “and” a dozen times she needs to give her sister and public speaking skills

Sorry Solo, bey yes u no. You’re trying to be quirky but i dnt buy it

Sorry, I find nothing exceptional about this woman.  But, they will be able to make a model out of her if she doesn’t walk in there with an attitude and incorporate what she knows already into what they teach her and she has to be hungry.  The other contesants are looking for a way to a better life, completing a lifelong dream not just another pretty face. She already has a name for herself – just needs pointers to make her better and she can get those anywhere, why America’s Next Top Model?

    • Meg

She is out of the box. Her music is actually good (esp. compared to what’s hot on the radio) and she has a nice little fan base. She also has taken up a few other ventures but it’s not going to be out there the same as if say Nicki Minaj did it b/c she’s not mainstream. BTW- Have you looked at the fashion industry lately? Most of the models are certainly not  “exceptional”. Why throw shade on a sister or even just another woman doing her thang? Hating is the new black? Not. And please read thoroughly before posting. Why in the world would she do Next Top Model? She signed to Next model management. An agency, not a show.

      • Fuzzy Frisson

Just because someone is ‘doing her own thang’, to use your term, doesn’t mean that everyone else has to acquiesce or support it by virtue of the person’s ethnicity or status within the media. Neither is it ‘hating’ or ‘throwing shade’. If it doesn’t agree with you in any way, you should have the freedom and courage to voice that disagreement in the same way you have the same, equal rights to voice your advocacy – as long as both arguments are well-balanced, informed and civil. That’s the beauty of debate: to form a rounded synthesis from opposing views.

Regarding the point you made: Solange is ‘out of the box’, yes and definitely has the bases for individualism.  However, what mars her personality, for me, is that she exaggerates her eccentricity, so it appears pretentious.  In interviews, she protracts what she says – overdramatising every detail, introspectively pontificates and her ‘pensiveness’ can border on garrulity.  If she relaxed a bit and reined herself in with some concision, she would be more personable.

Having said all of that, though, she’s leagues ahead of her sister when it comes to character, fashion, insight and genuineness of those.

I agree with you. She just looks like she is trying too hard.  Shame cuz no reason she can’t succeed on her own merits. She is smart and attractive.  Wonder why the parents didn’t invest as much into this one? That has got to be a hard place to be in.

    • fool of a tooke!

She’s not going to be on America’s Next Top Model- she SIGNED with Next. You’re so stupid, did you even read the article?? SMH.

    • ANON

What a dummy!!!… she signed to Next Model Management…a company that represents models…obviously u didn’t read the article. That’s the thing with models….the ones people hate on are usually the most beautiful because they are different and unique. Thank God you aren’t a model agency representative bc it takes a special eye to see talent and you don’t have that.
