Are your kids a little unruly around bedtime? Have you stuck to your routine and read them books to no avail?

Try a lavender bath. I swear this helps. Simply enough, the scent of lavender is very relaxing. Now, I’ve heard of parents who slip their kids a little Benadryl or other over the counter cold/allergy medicine to knock the kids out, but let’s not drug the babies, OK?

Johnson’s has a Lavender Bedtime bath wash and lotion that smells great, very mild.

You can also try to spray your children’s bedding with lavender scent to help promote sleep. Lavender-scented sprays are available at most discount stores such as Wal-Mart or Target, and at health food stores.

If you don’t like the scent of lavender, peppermint is another scent with calming properties.

What are your tips for getting the kids to sleep?
