If You Thought the Basketball Wives Were Bad, Meet the BMF Wives

You can thank Rick Ross for this one. The success of his song “BMF” which stood for Blowin’ Money Fast on his album “Teflon Don” was also an ode to the Black Mafia Family which Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory cofounded with his brother Terry “Southwest T” Flenory. Now that Meech has gotten a little shine, the ladies who have held these drug bosses down are hoping to get a litte bit of their own with a reality show.

According to Ozone Magazine, four ladies recently started shooting a reality show pilot with Strange Fruit Media, a production company that has produced content for BET and other networks, that they hope will turn into a TV deal.

Here’s the breakdown of the ladies:

  • Tonesa Welch (far right), wife of Terry, who calls herself the “First Lady of BMF,”and hopes to help tell Terry’s side of the BMF story.
  • Gricelda Chavez, who was involved with music producer Damon Thomas. Damon was a part of the BMF money-laundering scheme involving jewelry purchases and agreed to serve as a witness against Terry when he was caught. I have a feeling she’s not liked too well.
  • Lisa Buford, girlfriend of “PJ,” a high-ranking BMF affiliate on Terry’s side of the organization.
  • Tiffany Gloster who was indicted by the DEA on BMF-related charges with her man Jerry “J Rock” Davis in 2007. Tiffany served a two-year sentence for her part in helping to launder the fruits of J Rock’s cocaine labor and J Rock is currently serving a sentence of 39 years and 10 months in prison.

As crazy and ridiculously ratchet as this show sounds, I would not be surprised if it was picked up as a rival to Mob Wives. If producers think they have an audience for it, we can most definitely expect to catch the ladies of BMF on TV. So, would you watch?

So sick of women riding the coat tails of their men or, as in the case of every basketball wives show, ex-men.  “I want to launch my jewelry line so that I can be the independent business woman that I am.”  Really? They’re all a bunch of zero class nobodies that are taking the spotlight from the real fresh young talented men and women.  It’s really a shame.  Now I’m not gonna lie.  I love watching these shows. But these need to stick with the fighting and bickering and leave the clothing and jewelry and singing alone.

  • Cha-Cha

I would not watch one half of one quarter of a second of this show. They are proud of this because???? I just don’t get it… How about we follow wives of educators, doctors or people making a positive impact on this world?

  • Mija

WTH?  Used to be when you did something wrong or were trifling you would at least have some shame!  I’m so sick of hoes!

This is sad. I hope we cpme together as a people and shut it down! Sistahs this is not just a T.V show. This is an image that we want erased from our culture. Once this thing hits the airwaves and makes a few dollars we will have a lot more crap to clean up. Let’s stop the madness now! This is not a representation of us. We as black women have been taking a beating in the media for way to long. And there a few sistahs out there who are making positive progress to represent us correctly. But this mess right here will only hinder the work that we are doing as a people to move forward and represent our culure for what it really is: Amazing!! But this garbage will only fuel the stereotype that originated from an ignorant and desperate few. Come on ladies let’s stop this now! Write letters, blog, comment. Do what you have to do, but do not let this crap make it to the airwaves because when it does the backlash that sistahs will unfairly receive AGAIN will be monumental.

    Not interested at all!

Hell MothaEffin Naw I wouldn’t watch this… I’m tired of all this “reality” tv. Allowing people to profit off of criminal behavior is a sign of the moral decay occuring of our modern society.  What lessons are we teaching the next generation?  Get locked up, get a reality show #TI&Tiny. Be as dumb as a nail, but as cute as a  button, get a reality show #All of the Kardashian shows. Only a few “reality” shows entertain me because I’m busy living reality. YepISaidIt
