The story of Richard and Mildred Loving, the interracial couple whose union sparked the U.S. Supreme Court case of  Loving vs. Virginia in 1967, will make its television debut on HBO in February.

The film, “The Loving Story,” tells of the civil rights struggle that overturned the state’s ban on interracial marriage with exclusive interviews with the family of the couple and the attorneys who worked to establish the monumental statute.

Check out the trailer for the film before it airs on Valentines Day, 2012. Will you check this out?

The trailer brought tears to my eyes .My mother was African American and my father was from Porto Rico and because of the lite color of my skin and the curls in my hair I never fit in the neighborhoods we lived in nor was I welcomed in my own family , or as I was told , ” To white to be black , to black to anything worth a dam ” . So much pain I didn’t finish high school because of the fights everyday . Its so sad , here we are in a hole new century and still we are haunted by are shameful past because we can still see it every day that we step outside . I look forward to seeing this story , the only thing that saved me was my beautiful wife of twenty years and daughter who has gone to collage , both have made me so proud !!!

beautiful story.  A great eye opener to those folks who are anti interracial relationships, not only for themselves but for others.

This was already a t.v. movie for lifetime starring Lela Rochon. It was called “Mr. & Mrs. Loving”. I’ll still look out for this one…

He looks so possessive! How is this a good picture to use for the promo! He looks like he has her in a choke-hold and she looks, well, timid. Just my opinion.

He’s not possessive.  He more looks like he worships the ground she walks on.
